Love is stored in Blue (Jurassic World)!
Blue and Lilac are laying in their little nest overseeing a huge field where some people are setting up what they can only determine as boxes and putting balls in them. They are curious and they will wait and see what happens, after all they have some deer to eat.
@loyaldogfairy
It was Lilac who noticed the odd smell first. It was… a mammal… like the deer they had eaten only… more… like them. Predatory… carnivore. But something else too, an almost electric smell but not something different. She followed the scent and came to be looking at the back of the creature. What a colorful looking creature!
Blue had followed her young friend and watched, she too could smell it and was curious. Blue let out a raptor bark to Lilac trying to get her to stay close but the younger raptor was not listening.
Lilac flexed her front claws and grabbed to the side of a tree. Watching the creature as she swayed.
Eleonore hadn’t noticed the raptor. At least not yet as she was too busy lying down and gnawing on a tasty bone she’d found, presumably one that came from a prey animal that had it’s life cut short by a predator.
After a while, she lifted her head, seemingly staring off into the distance. And nothing happened for a bit, the Granbull eventually sneezing and shaking her head before returning her attention to the bone.
Lilac wiggled more and came around the tree then stepped over to the strange creature, tail swishing some she remained a respective distance and hunkered down.
Blue groaned and followed her, giving the other a sharp raptor bark. She was not pleased that Lilac was not listening to her. It bothered her that she was oh so curious.

The two raptors are out hunting, looking for a deer perhaps.

Day 176: Blue is showing unprecedented levels of compliance. Here I am with Blue. She’s a theropod from a new group. If I show signs of weakness… “Hey…I’m okay.” She’s pretty extraordinary. Blue displaying levels of interest, concern, hyper-intelligence, cognitive bonding. See that? Tilting her head, she’s playing for us… Increased eye movement, she’s curious. She’s showing empathy. Blue is the key. You have Blue… You’ll get these raptors to do anything.

Lilac chirps happily and stays beside him as they walk. A few Compys run across their path, one jumping up on her back she turned her head and licked it’s face making it squeak and run off. She let out a few snorts as if laughing about it.
Looking to Nestor again he seemed troubled, maybe it had something to do with the voice on the weird device he found important. She nuzzled him gently and kept walking, letting out a few encouraging chirps and doing a funny little wiggle walk to try and make him smile.
Blue had decided to trail behind a few feet back and watch them quietly. Lilac seemed happy, so for now she just followed. Besides the other dinosaurs were all about as well.
CUTE TINY DINOSAURS!
Nestor probably shouldn’t think they’re cute. They can be dangerous and they deserve to be respected. But.. but.. They’re so tiny! They’re so precious! Those little compys! He can think they’re adorable while respecting them. He won’t underestimate them or forget what they’re capable of. He clasps his hands together and makes happy, pleased chirp sorts of sounds.
Not only are they cute but… “Much cool!” Dinosaurs really are amazing creatures. He’s glad they get to come back and live in these modern times. “You have amazing life here.” Nestor tells Lilac as he gives her some pats on the head.
Is it fine to interact with dinosaurs? Can a person build love and respect with them? Or is it best to stay away and leave them with other dinosaurs, not taking the risk of being mauled? One of Nestor’s friends has a pet crocodile who is very sweet.. Crocodiles are like dinosaurs… It has to be possible to have a real bond and be safe with these creatures.
He carefully preens some of Lilac’s feathers if she seems open to it.
Lilac nodded, she was alright with the Compys, she was part Compy she just liked to tease them. Looking around she smiled some, they did have it good here, but this was... this was not permanent last she checked. All of the dinosaurs here needed more room. When the Allos grew up they would be a handful when it came to territory. Even more so because they were twins. She relaxed and allowed the preening, her tail wiggling some.
Blue was keeping watch, lest there be others about.

Lilac waited, then pushed her nose to the hand and thrummed softly. She was a good raptor! A very good raptor!
Blue snorted softly as if to mock the younger but didn’t advance, only watched.
Lilac wiggled in place then licked her hand and pulled back. Head tilting curiously she seemed to almost smile at the human.
Skylie couldn’t help but smile. So this one was okay. Her gaze went to the other raptor. The one farther away. Skylie eyed her warily. But was not nearly as scared as she had been. These animals didn’t seem interested in eating her.
Lilac wiggled some before flopping into a laying position not unlike that of a dog. Probably the most dangerous dog in the world. She thrummed softly and looked over to Blue.
Blue shook her head some, she could not understand how the younger could trust so easily. Let alone deal with being so close to a human, a stranger. She huffed and stayed put looking around to see if there was any danger.
Well. That was unexpected. Skylie found comfort in the strange one’s behavior. The child sank down and wrapped her arms around the raptor’s neck. A soft hug. She looked frightened. “I’ve gotten myself lost… I’m all by myself out here…”
Lilac held very still as she was hugged, what a strange behavior. What was this? Her head turned to look at the girl, feather crest raised as she tilted her head and made a sort of curious sound.
Blue listened, she sounded scared. Sniffing some she looked about again and realized this human was alone. Why was this young human alone though? How odd, they usually stuck together.

Lilac wiggled some and kept watch while he talked on the device. The device talking back to him was angry. She didn’t much like that, but she couldn’t just eat the thing.
When it was over she noted his tone, he was leaving? Well, she could walk with him! She nuzzled him and lifted her crest then looked in the direction she knew the exit was. Thrumming softly and swaying in place. This way he would be safe, less likely to get attacked. Most of the dinosaurs respected the two raptors and Rexy enough not to bother them or anyone with them.
Nestor frowns a little. He’s not sure if he will ever be allowed to interact with Lilac ever again after this. He’s not authorized. It’s supposedly not safe. But she’s such a sweet and friendly thing. The idea that he will just be continuing to work here, close to her but never allowed to interact again, makes him feel sad.
Part of his logical mind tells him that Lilac is still dangerous and she could turn on him at any minute but… Sometimes he feels like creatures like Lilac are always very… honest. Animals tend to be honest with their intentions and feelings. They don’t scheme or back-stab someone. Nestor has also been warned these creatures are intelligent and capable of deception… But Lilac seems to genuine to him. He doesn’t feel endangered.
He pets her head a few times. He’ll just… think. He has a long way to walk before he gets to the exit anyway. Maybe he can talk to someone and ask if he can visit Lilac… But he doesn’t think it will happen. She’s already a very secret project….
He walks and he thinks. He makes a few friendly chirps to Lilac as they move through the enclosure. Nestor should be paying more attention to his surroundings to watch for dangerous creatures, but he’s mostly focused on Lilac and feeling sad that this may be their first and last meeting.
Maybe he can just keep sneaking in. No one needs to know. But then he’d risk getting fired… Bah!
Lilac chirps happily and stays beside him as they walk. A few Compys run across their path, one jumping up on her back she turned her head and licked it’s face making it squeak and run off. She let out a few snorts as if laughing about it.

Lilac is not sure what to do with this round orange thing she has found, but she is going to sniff at it and other investigate the thing.
Blue blinked some, why was there so many of these things strewn about? And what were they!? They smelled like herbivore food.

Blue and Lilac were currently drinking from the local river after a long hunt. The two raptors had not yet spotted the other and thusly were too busy. Chances are the reason they hadn’t noticed was because the other was downwind and out of sight.
Skylie was stunned at the sight. Dinosaurs? Here? The albino gulped nervously. She took a few steps back, before turning. She stepped on a twig as she went to move away. It snapped underfoot. Uncomfortably loud. Skylie cringed. She slowly turned her head back to look.
Like twins the pair of raptors lifted their heads and turned them toward the sound. Blue growled softly and looked to Lilac, nudging her. Lilac snorted and took point, sniffing as she darted toward the source of the sound. Feather crest lifted the smaller raptor lead her sister toward the sound and toward Skylie.
Lilac stopped and looked to her with big yellow eyes, intelligent and curious. She swayed in place, foreclaws flexing.
Blue was right behind her, orange gaze just as calculating and curious. Her upper lip curled a little showing off her very sharp teeth.
Skylie remained still. Absolutely still. She didn’t dare move for fear of provoking them in any way. The child only turned her head to keep eyes on the animals. Her heart was pounding frantically in her chest.
“B-be nice… Please be nice…” she murmured. Skylie wanted to run. She really did. But she knew for many predatory animals that could very well trigger a prey response.
Lilac walked over, head tilted in a curious manner. The smaller of the two she was much less threatening, at least in looks. Claws flexed as the younger moved closer and sniffed. She was scared, afraid of them. How… odd. She leaned over and let out sort of chirp.
Blue remained behind, watching from a distance. She knew she was scary, knew that very few looked on raptors as friends because they were carnivores, killers. Still she was vigilant rather than intrusive. Let Lilac say hello first, it usually worked out better.
She jumped a little at the chirp. Skylie watched the younger animal move around her nervously. So far… It looked to be only curiosity. A hand reached out slowly, warily. Fingers spread out wide and trembling. Her eyes went to the older raptor standing by. Skylie wasn’t sure what was going on… Only that it left her feeling unsettled.
“G-g-good… Raptor…?”
Lilac waited, then pushed her nose to the hand and thrummed softly. She was a good raptor! A very good raptor!
Blue snorted softly as if to mock the younger but didn’t advance, only watched.
Lilac wiggled in place then licked her hand and pulled back. Head tilting curiously she seemed to almost smile at the human.
empathicraptors:
Lilac thrummed a little and moved the top of her head into his touch, tail wagging some. She was indeed very special, a hybrid raised with raptors given the chance to socialize unlike the other hybrids created by InGen. Raised to recognize the touch of human, understand them to an extent.
The Baryonyx called again, this time it was more triumph then anger. As if she had won something.
Lilac listened and sniffed. She could smell the hit of blood and fear on the air. Whatever the bigger carnivore won over, it was still alive. Probably another turf battle between her and the Allosaurus twins. Two juveniles that had no real turf yet, Lilac was okay with them but they were a tad pushy. Blue had run them off yesterday after trying to steal from their meal. Yellow eyes focused on Nestor again, he really doesn’t belong here. Why was he here? Besides the trees? He would be in danger if he stayed too long, she knew that much.
Oh she’s so cute the dangerous predator is so cute and Nestor loves her. He makes a thrum noise in response to her’s and the sound is surprisingly similar. Nestor can be a pretty decent mimic when he wants to be. And Lilac’s sounds are kind of easy for him to imitate.
“I need to.. use this, talk to.. workers…” He explains vaguely, not sure why he does. Not sure Lilac understands it. Nestor just likes talking to her. He talks to his cat, he’ll talk to a dinosaur.
The communication device works perfectly fine. These things are built sturdy. Nestor is able to call his boss and promptly gets into a small argument. The boss doesn’t understand what Nestor is doing in there, he’s not supposed to be in there! But Nestor knows he was supposed to be in here. He’s following his schedule! If someone changed the schedule without telling Nestor, then that’s not Nestor’s fault! It’s a frustrating conversation. Nestor doesn’t like it when other people seem to think he’s stupid or seem to be trying to blame him for something.
Despite how frustrating it is, Nestor keeps his voice down. He doesn’t want to attract the attention of something that would be dangerous to him. Either way, he’s finding himself regretting calling his boss in the first place.. Is he going to be fired for someone else’s mistake?
When the conversation is over Nestor puts the device away and sighs. He’d been instructed to go hide and wait for rescue, but he thinks he’s just going to leave himself. He knows where the gate is.
“I think I need to leave… Before something comes to eat me…” He gently tells Lilac. He reaches over and pets her again. He really does like her a lot. She’s cute and feathery. Smart, interesting and kind. People sometimes say reptiles aren’t capable of things like compassion, but Lilac definitely seems to be.
