*arrives for the kiss*
â ⌠Hatori, â she murmurs, pulling on his tie. Hatori. Haattori. Haa-san. Haa-san. Sheâd always liked the way it sounded.Â
Akito tugs his hands away from where they fuss with his box of unpleasantness, all syringes and pills and thermometers, and guides them to her; to her shoulders, her cheeks, her waist. Stop fussing, she thinks, though she doesnât say it.Â
There were times when the affection just hit her. Affection, desire, loneliness, it all boiled down to the same thing. Love, ancient love, passed down by generations of Sohmas into her heart; a thousand-year-old orgasm, a tree that grew a centimetre thicker with every passing year. Sometimes it felt like it was all too much to bear, the love of every God that passed before her along with her own.Â
Perhaps it was not something her Jyuunishi felt as strongly as her, but Akitoâs bond to them was in her bones and skin; she saw in them what they did not see in themselves. A dragon, a healer, always kind, always cold. The only creature to visit her in the heavens. It was all true, every word â
And so she does not think he is surprised when she pulls him to her bedside and presses her lips to his, soft; gentler than she knows she is capable of. Akito had never had much of a talent for tenderness, unless it was like this, she supposed.Â
â Wonât you stay a while? âÂ
Out of curiosity what would Akito's Pokemon team be? What typing would she lean to? Also would she be a regular trainer, gym leader or elite four member?
oh, i totally forgot about this - i made this ages ago but couldnât think of an answer. sorry, anon!Â
in all truth i canât see her actually owning any pokĂŠmon - due to her position, iâm not sure sheâd be permitted to have her own, given her poor health and head of household responsibilities. while the curse is active, though, i could see her interacting in some way with arceus, if not directly battling with it. maybe only once, or in dreams.
if not arceus, i think there might have been a mimikyu (and possibly various other gastly or haunter) lurking around the sohma estate that she might have played with growing up.Â
i imagine once sheâs freed from the sohma estate (or the curse breaks, whatever happens in-verse), she would be given an egg, to represent her new beginning, and she would become a regular travelling trainer.Â

    â Alright. âÂ
He doesnât expect anything different. Itâs not so uncommon, for her to crave or eschew any presence and he doesnât startle for it. What he does instead is watch her closely â looks entirely past her words and keeps a sharp, clinical eye on how she is. As frequently as pains and illnesses come, each one is something he worries over with extra care.Â
He also doesnât need to say something; this, at least, is something he thinks she knows. Maybe the trauma of that afternoon still rings in her bones in a way it does not in his â maybe it rattles, rusted and poisonous, along the chains of her bond. But even in the face of that final, deep, shattering â he has never been anywhere else. ( if he were in the habit of wanting anything, he might want her to know that. to feel safe in that knowledge. even if some voice in the back of his mind that feels almost as separate as the bird that used to perch with him whispers a warning at that.Â
â but then, itâs moot. heâs not in the habit of wanting. )Â
As she presses close he continues his gentle ministrations, featherlight fingers ghosting through her hair, trailing against the length of her jaw. His expression remains as undisturbed and heavy eyed as it had, attention entirely focused on her.Â
When her lips dovetail with his, he responds in kind. She sets the pace and he follows, shifting so that the arms supporting her weight are soft and undemanding.Â
â I wonât. â Itâs plain and simple, but heavy with conviction: a fundamental truth, restated. Kureno draws a breath, then in what might be construed as impulsive if only by virtue of the rhythm of their relationship, he leans in and chastely presses his lips against the corner of her mouth.Â
She drinks it in, all broken bread under his lips and feather touches; she was in control. She was always in control, and yet perhaps it was the illusion of relinquishing control that was what made him her safe place. Somewhere locked away from all the prying eyes. A world only they could touch.Â
Stay away from us, or Iâll kill you.Â
Her thin hands ghost from his chest to the collar of his shirt; she pulls him over her, and loses herself in the ebb and flow of what they pretended was a bond.
  More. More.
In the end, Akito hungered for closeness. She was a pit, a gaping maw, a black hole, a sacrificial shrine; into which endless gifts, love, praise, obedience, reverence, worship, attention and intimacy could be thrown, and yet never satisfy. Perhaps, in its way, that was her share of the curse, as the othersâ bane was being chained to her.Â
And so it was never enough. She claws at him as if she will never let go. In that moment, she doesnât think she will.
Akito awakes quietly as light filters through the screens, and feigns sleep.Â
Once upon a time she would have imagined the arms around her were Shigureâs, fancied it his chest pressed to her back, though this was no longer the case. Kurenoâs touch was too gentle to be Shigureâs, anyway. Soft and fragile, like down on a hatched chick. She could feel his heartbeat against her back.Â
It was rare for her to sleep alone, and she knew rumours spread among those maid gossips like wildfire. It wasnât as though she was a whore, some ugly nymphomaniac like that woman. Akito didnât seduce; never. They chose her. They loved her. It was no wonder she kept her bedfellows closest. She was born to be loved, wasnât she?
The familiar rise and fall of Kurenoâs chest gave her no answer.Â
Support muses of color.
Stop ignoring them for white muses.
Dismantle whitewashed/ faceclaims.Â
End the idea that a muse canât ship with a non-white muse because the muse âisnât into ___ people.â
Destroy labeling roleplayers of female muses of color as âthey only care about shipping/smutâ because they like to write romantic threads. Â Â
Avoid racist stereotypes in writing.Â
Stop being overcritical of non-white muses that have the same flaws as white muses.Â
 STOP. MISTREATING. MUSES. OF. COLOR.Â
I am not good. I am not virtuous. I am not sympathetic. I am not generous. I am merely and above all a creature of intense passionate feeling. I feelâeverything. It is my genius. It burns me like fire.

And you will never HAVE McDonalds because god knows what that level of sodium intake would do to your blood pressure. Don't you trouble me enough already as it is, Akito? Or would you prefer to add 'clogged arteries' to the list?
youâre not my mom!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a thought but I was always of the opinion that Akito could be read as trans but not in the way most people would think. Could it be possible that she is, in fact a type of transwoman? Does being transgendered always have to mean your gender identity being incongruent with your biological sex? Doesn't it just mean being ASSIGNED a wrong gender? We see that Akito was forcibly assigned male and that this causes her dysphoria and at the end its shown she's actually very feminine.
tricky question, to be honest - it is something i have spent a while thinking about on more than one occasion, and to be honest, i donât think thereâs a clear-cut answer. the definition of what it is to be trans varies from person to person - iâm gonna put this under a cut cuz it might get long. like, really long.Â
