NEW SPLATOON OC ALERT

got a massive wave of inspiration and decided to make an idol trio based on ‘Defence, Offence, and Deterrence’ using fanasy theming, thus a group called:

Excaviar!

Was born (excalibur + caviar)

With three members: A Princess, A Knight, and A Dragon.

This is my Defence:

Princess Damshell

Shes not very benevolent or kind like how one would imagine a real princess to be like but she is elegant.. as elegant as an Inkling could be with these two bozos as group members.

Shes joking really she loves her other two members dearly but she can’t let the public know that or else her untouchable and non-chalant image would be destroyed.

Shes also crazy vain and into herself, like the type to kiss her reflection in the mirror.

Design- her headpeice (hennin) has two tentacles sticking out the top of it with ruffled ribbons glued to the sides (the tentacles are props and arent her real tentacles, we love a shaved hair queen)

She has vitiligo or the inkling equivalent to it, because inklings are made of ink i always imagined that their skin and the cells that make it up just shifted wherever it wanted after respawning so her pale patches do shift to other areas on her body from time to time.

Her skirt is basically a skirts underwire but she bedazzled it because she didn’t wanna hide how good her legs looked.

I was originally gonna give her a nose ring but decided against it, it just looked too out if place.

SPLATOON IDOL OC’s

Main (the octoling/red) and Prime (the inkling/blue)

(I currently have two outfits for their SummerNights looks and i can’t decide between them lol

This one is more ‘them’ because it shows their personalities more. Prime is more exposed than she usually is showing she’s coming out of her shell more and Main’s wearing suncream and a full body swimming costume showing her maturity because of its coverage. ( if people are intrested in this narrative they’ve got going on then i’ll elaborate in a lore post about them)

However:

This look is more accurate to how SummerNights actually are in game: the same outfit characters usually wear with a fruit theme instead. Main is mango themed and Prime is green apple themed.

Idkkkk i love both the outfits but the first ones arent game accurate and the second are just a bit boring, tbh i might just chose both and say for their first SummerNights as the Splatcast announcers they wear the fruit theme but for their second round they’d wear what they’d actually want to wear.

Replaying BotW and these chest always confused me, like why is there just a load of boxes and random clothes here?

But now that I think about it, I like to imagine the soldiers that were sent to take Link to the shrine of resurrection left their own trousers and shirts here so Link could have some privacy and something to wear once he woke back up.

I understand it’s probably very much ‘plot reasons’ but I love the idea that the soldiers respected Link as another person and wanted to leave him with some dignity.

I know they’re meant to look like sushi and calamari parts but I always felt that they’re a bit plain and don’t really go into the themeing idk I’m not good at explaining my thought process.

Some really old Frye and Shiver (re) designs I had sitting around

If it’s not clear I gave Frye a raincoat because she uses splatana and that weapon is most commonly used in rainmaker and it looks cute on her.

I gave them both moles above their eyebrows, I know they don’t have moles because team chaos won but I like how they look, Big Man has ‘mole’ on the middle of his forehead because he’s a manta ray.

I feel bad because I kinda foreheadwashed Frye but I couldn’t figure out how to make her cute with a big head like Nintendo did. I NEED ANSWERS!!

Anyway I LOVE the eyes on them both but I’m unsure about shivers wider eyes, I don’t wanna take away from her Japanese(?) inspiration.
