A lot of people seem to be using Tumblr lately in the office, so I thought I should join in as well.

For those of you who do not know me, I'm Cathy, I work in the 8th floor in this office.

Cass' smile vanishes as soon as she leaves Satsuo's office. The stress of the overall situation is starting to get to her. This is not good. First the guns, and then everyone else's reaction. There is likely something bigger happening, and this is never good in the office. It's been a while since the last time she checked out ◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼◼, maybe she should soon. The meeting of tomorrow is almost ready anyway, so she'll have time. But first, she needs to take a break. She calls for the lift, wanting to check that everything is alright. Cathy opens the door when she hears a knock, happy to find Cass in front of her. It's been a few weeks since she visited her, and she is glad to see her friend again.

I'm doing alright. She sighs. A lot of things have happened recently, and I don't know how to deal with it.

Cathy interrupts her before she can continue. She doesn't like the rule she have set for herself more than anyone else, but she has to follow it. The alternative would be way worst.

We are not exactly friends, but they are one of the people I've been working with for the longest time, so I've started to know them a bit. I've come to see zem earlier today, to check in on them and plan a meeting, and zey told me that they have stopped receiving any work to do lately. And the past time it happened...

She stops, trying to calm herself down, grateful to have to place where she can unwind.

Yes. Everytime it happens, everytime someone ends up not being given work to do, those people get fired quickly. Well everyone, except but me.

A sadness goes through her eyes at the thought.

Anyway, I don't want to see them go. She shakes her head. We aren't even really close, it's just, I've gotten used to see zem once in a while. I'm tired of seeing people being... fired.

I know you don't like to get too involved in things here either, not since... She doesn't finish her sentence. Both of them know anyway. But maybe you could try looking a bit more around. See if there is something you could do to help a bit or just to check in with zem.

Cass tightens slightly her grip on her bracelet. Cathy is right. She tries to not get involved too much, to not risk getting fired as well. Someone has to make sure that the life in the office stays bareable, that people still get the help they deserve. But there are still a few things she can try to do. She nods at Cathy, not replying directly.

I've been working here for quite some time, probably for longer than most people here, but the office is quite large, and I don't come to the first floor that often, so that explains why we haven't met yet. I'm Cathy. Do you have a name that you like to use? Or do you prefer if I call you 111?

Also, I'm quite curious here, why have you only eaten lemons lately? I'm sure there are plenty of other snacks in the break room.

As for the lemon stuff, eh.. I had a run-in with some bad habits. The building thought it’d be a good idea to just keep me in here and deliver me packaged goods. Nobody’s really delivered any food to me in a while though, apart from someone giving me a bunch of lemons. It isn’t too bad to be honest, but I can’t wait to try these cookies; they smell amazing.

I don't think the windows open on that side of the building, and breaking them would definitely get you in trouble. Plus, I am unsure whether the birds you have there are native of this area. Maybe it would be best to bring them to the aviary on the sixth floor, so they could be taken care off well? I can help you bring them if you want.

Huh, there’s an aviary in here? Since when did we get those? Nonetheless, if you could help me out with taking all these birds over there, that’d be great.

Do you think they have any guides or equipment to help with taking care of personal birds? Like- there’s this one bird I really adore, named him One-One. He’s over in that open drawer sleeping. Do you think I could keep him and take care of him in my office? Should be way easier to do so now that the other birds are going to be outta here.

I don't really know when it's been added to the building to be fair, but I think it's been a few years at least. I'm pretty sure they'll be glad to help you with that little guy.

You know what, maybe we could go and ask them right now? We could also borrow some cages to help carrying the other ones there, and that would give you a good opportunity to leave the office, what do you think?

111 gently scoops up One-One, nestling him in there arms as they grin and give a thumbs up to Cathy.

Cathy walks out the office, and walk a few steps in the corridor before turning around to see if 111 is following her or not.

111 is, in fact, following Cathy.

Alright! So, where exactly is this Aviary place?

Cathy smiles, happy that 111 is actually leaving their office.

It's on the sixth floor, follow me.

They go upstairs, chatting nicely about the birds and how the aviary is organised. A few dozens of minutes later, they are back in 111's office, both holding a few cages and bird food, after having discussed for some time with the aviary workers and gotten some advice on how to care for One-One as best as possible.

Alright, all is left to do is to capture all the remaining birds and bring them back to the aviary so they can take care of it.

She tries to get closer to one of the birds that quickly flies away, breaking a mug at the same time.

Probably easier said than done, but let's try it out!

111 would look down at the broken mug, exhaling.

Yeah, this is going to take a bit. -..Ooh, wait. I learned this a few days ago, look.

111 grabs a lemon from a nearby drawer, and a butter knife from another. They would puncture the lemon, carving out the rind and placing it in the cage. The previous bird from before would flock over to the cage, with 111 gently closing the gate behind it.

The birds love this stuff. No idea why, but there’s a few more lemons over there and some butter knives in there if you need them.

Cathy looks skeptical at first, but tries it anyway. To her surprise, another bird goes it the cage, and she manages to lock it in.

I'm surprised this actually works, but this is going to make it much easier. How did you even figure that out?

While they chat, they keep doing the same procedure and after around 40 minutes all the birds except One-One are locked in cages.

Now, all that is left to do is to bring them to the aviary. It might take us a few trips here.

-Bah, figured it out while I was eating lemons a day or three ago. I like to do this thing where I cut the rind off of the actual fruit flesh and to my surprise, the birds just flocked to the pile of rinds like crazy. Pretty weird discovery, right?

Alright! Uh, hmm.. do you think there’s anyone around that would want to help us, or is this a two person kinda job, just me and you?

Yes, this is really interesting. And going to help us a lot here.

Um, I do not know anyone who would not busy with work at the moment, so I think it is going to be the two of us. But if you want, we can try to have a look around, see if anyone would be willing to help.

I've counted 37, so that might take us a while. How did you even end up with that many birds anyway?

While speaking, she starts to carry one of the cages, containing several birds, and go up to the 6th floor, where she helps getting them out in the aviary, with the help of 111. After a few back and forth, all the birds to the exception of One-One have been brought there, and both the employees are back in 111's office.

And we are done! This has taken us quite a while in the end, so I'm going to go back to my work, but it was nice meeting you, One. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anymore help with food or with something else. Also, I hope you'll give me news about that little fella, he really is lovely.

Sorry for not immediately replying to your question, I thought it would be easier to chat face-to-face rather than through internet. I've been working here for quite some time, probably for longer than most people here, but the office is quite large, and I don't come to the first floor that often, so that explains why we haven't met yet. I'm Cathy. Do you have a name that you like to use? Or do you prefer if I call you 111?

Also, I'm quite curious here, why have you only eaten lemons lately? I'm sure there are plenty of other snacks in the break room.

As for the lemon stuff, eh.. I had a run-in with some bad habits. The building thought it’d be a good idea to just keep me in here and deliver me packaged goods. Nobody’s really delivered any food to me in a while though, apart from someone giving me a bunch of lemons. It isn’t too bad to be honest, but I can’t wait to try these cookies; they smell amazing.

Just my office, for the most part. -To be honest, I think I could exit this place whenever I want. I haven’t seen the employee who was monitoring me for.. a while, now. Odd. Anyways, I’ll be sure to enjoy these cookies, that’s for sure! By the way, do you think you’ve got anything that’s bird-friendly? My office has been infested with birds for a while now and I think I’m just going to live with them at this point.

This is weird. Maybe you should try to leave it, you cannot just stay there and starve. Um, I probably have some sunflower seeds upstairs, but I don't know enough about birds to say if that would be good for them or not. Although, it is kinda weird that there are so many birds in your office at the moment, I don't think it is such a nice place for them to live.
