Okay but can you imagine how much food the dragons would be consuming if Viserion hadn't of died?
Those 3 dragons could single handedly cause famines wherever they went.
Filling my blog with Jonsa fam love before S8 starts!
No matter what happens, I’ll always remember the wittiness and kindness of the jonsa fam throughout my time with you all.

How can the Unsullied be effective warfighters without testosterone?
I’m only NOW thinking of this (and maybe it’s the medical dude in me) but how can the unsullied be effective fighters if they have no testosterone production?
Castration removes the testes which produce testosterone (hormone largely responsible for aggressive behavior and muscle creation). If the unsullied are initiated at age 5 (before puberty) it would be almost IMPOSSIBLE for them to develop normally as men.
Additionally, their bones would be easier to fracture, their kidneys and livers wouldn’t function correctly and they would have a deficit in Bone marrow production.
Shouldn’t an unsullied look more like Varys (soft, lacking muscle and docile) than than Captain America?
I’m probably overthinking this. 🤷🏽♂️
I love how they don’t shy away from emphasising what living dragons mean for the nature around them. Look at those piles of charred bones around them.
And to get to them, Dany and Jon have to trudge through all those burned bones of dead animals. Ewwww. Yikes.
if this doesn't make it clear that dragons will contaminate everything they touch, i don't know what else will.
also, wtf have they been eating? cows? deers? a hell of a lot of valuable and scarce food that could've gone to feeding men, women and children?
i'm just saying davi, everyone else is rationing, maybe they need to too.
What the fuck is Daenerys doing in Winterfell’s cripts?
That’s a sacred place.
oh god, remember when people were saying that they were gonna do the dirty in the crypts?
hopefully that theory doesn't make a come back.
I saw something you reblogged and!!! just realized it might be HELLA AWK for D to find out the Lord's Chambers aren't Jon's to start with because he gave them to his EQUAL, Sansa. i can't see this being in the show unless they do really hard with the triangle immediately tho unfortunately. wdyt?
I think the Lord’s Chambers has been framed to be very important because it signifies political position and power. The Stark who rules Winterfell is supposed to reside there. They didn’t just bring it up at the end of season 6 but again in season 7, where Arya accused Sansa of seizing it from Jon to undermine him. That isn’t what happened but it’s a bone of political tension so it matters - regardless of a ship.
Where it gets strangely evocative of romantic subtext is that Jon offered it to her and Sansa told him he should take it instead and it became a conversation about Jon not being a Stark and Sansa validating him with “You are to me”. Jon was made king and yet he made sure she still got those rooms and that in itself is a political statement - and quite a confusing one.
Because if Jon is KITN and Sansa is Lady of Winterfell, is she to remain in that position even after he marries and how would it work? She isn’t Princess Sansa, sister to a king. She’s Sansa Stark, the Lady of Winterfell - which is a far more politically involved role and by giving her those rooms, he essentially, even if indirectly, made Sansa both Lord and Lady of Winterfell, while he acts as King.
It’s why Sansa offers up her title to Bran when he comes back. Jon isn’t Lord of Winterfell but rather Sansa is. And now Jon isn’t even the King but Warden in the North, which doesn’t necessarily have to go to someone who has a claim over the central castle of a kingdom because Robert almost made Jaime Warden of the East after Jon Arryn died because his son was too young.
The GA doesn’t get this because it’s so confusing and they never have a conversation about this that clarifies all these issues. Probably for Doylist reasons of creating more drama or Watsonian reasons of both Jon and Sansa being afraid of broaching this topic that is so sensitive because Jon doesn’t believe he deserves it and opening up that can of worms may keep him from staying focused during this time of need (and he probably thinks he’ll die in the war anyway) and Sansa doesn’t want broach it because technically, she doesn’t want to acknowledge her insecurity and frustration of being overlooked and dismissed because she’s a woman when she knows Jon hasn’t had it easy either.
There was no need to make a whole new set for the Lord’s Chambers and bring up the political and personal relationship again if it didn’t matter. So I think it will come up and fast. I just don’t see WW stuff happening until end of ep 2.
As for the romantic aspect? It’s very important to remember that the political is personal when it comes to Jon and Sansa and so politics and the romantic subtext often merge because that is how it is framed visually and otherwise. And the thing with subtext is at some point it’s got to make it to the text and they’ve been building on that for two seasons. So if it does come up in season 8, it’s just going to be a hint, a suggestion before more and more cues make things obvious.
PS: If you’re questioning if Dany will want to stay in those rooms as per queen’s right? Yeah it won’t happen. But as someone who is entangled with him personally, she might assume it is his room and it being Sansa’s would still raise eyebrows. And she’s a Targaryen so it’s not like the “half sister” actually cousin part will stop her from wondering.
Throwing a little humour onto that last point, but what if Dany sneaks into the lord's chambers and is being all sexy by posing on the bed, waiting for Jon. The door opens and... it's Sansa.
I wouldn't be totally surprised if something like that happened, just for a bit of awkward comedy, especially considering the weird sense of humour D&D have been showing since last season. I still have nightmares about the Jorah scene transgressing into that bowl scene. Wtf.
It is funny how people tend to forget the fact that the Iron Bank doesnt want Dany to sit on the IT.
In my opinion, the disapproval of the iron Bank is a far greater threat to Dany than the Night King. Even if Dany emerges victorious over cersei, the Iron Bank would still find another candidate to depose her and not to mention they are also closely associated with the faceless men. If a No one decides to kill Dany, even the 🔥 of Drogon and Rhaegal cannot save her.
So Dany is screwed no matter what happens in season 8
^ ^
I hated it so much when I realised that the Targs (or at least Dany) were immune to fire in the show, because they are really just ordinary people like everyone else.
There are more ways to kill someone than in an epic fight scene. --sorry Jaime-- Dany is still vulnerable to poison and a quiet stealthy assassination, and I’m wiling to bet that everyone knows this by now. If a No One snuck into her room at night or poisoned her, there’s not really much she can do.
Imagine this...
You have something I want.
You say, “I will give it to you, for a price.”
I agree, and we barter on the price for a while, eventually we agree, and I give you the price.
----------
I think we can all agree, that that is a very well known and fair way of acquiring things, regardless of what they are.
----------
However, I then decide to then kill you and take everything because me and my friends thought you were a bit of a prick.
Does the fact that you weren't the nicest person change anything? You didn't threaten to kill me or do me dirty but you did use some sexist words.
No.
It doesn't fucking change anything, I’ve just killed and robbed you. You deserved a slap and a lesson, but not death. It doesn't matter what I wanted the thing for, I just broke the most basic agreement, that I both clearly understood and agreed to.
I don't give a fuck if it was badass or cool, it was fundamentally wrong.
GAME OF THRONES season eight could see Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark go head-to-head as they both battle to save what is most important to them The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones i…
Because you know politically, Dany can’t do shit without her advisors, whose counsel she doesn’t even use.
Because you know Game of Thrones is more than just battles and monsters, and death.
Because you know that with only six episodes in the final season, they won’t drag out the fight with the Night King and not deal with the political drama as well.
Me, acting shocked like:
Can you imagine Daviris talking to Sansa the way she talk to her advisors?
If she talks to the people who have given up their time and energy to advise her like she did in season 7, I don't think she’s going to be all nice and get along with Sansa.
I swear the moment she says one slightly condescending thing to Sansa, because you know that’s what’s going to happen, I’m going to burst through the tv and strangle her.
Writing Characters that Slowly Descend Into Madness
Okay y'all this is one of my absolute favorite tropes / character arcs / whatever you want to call it. I’ve written at least two characters that end up twisted and deranged… While it’s fun to do, it can be a little difficult to nail down, so I thought I’d share some tips!
From Avatar the Last Airbender’s Azula to Gollum, characters often think that they can handle the Ultimate Power™ when they really can’t. These corrupted characters and their character arcs can be tricky to write, so here’s some pointers!
The character to be corrupted should have a one track mind. Your character needs to have a goal in mind, one that (at least in their eyes) requires the Ultimate Power™. This goal can be as simple as world domination, or as complex as “I need to get revenge on this specific person in this specific manner, or else I won’t be satisfied.” It’s up to you, but you need to make sure that your character’s every action revolves around this central goal.
Or, if your character has two motivations, like reconciling themselves to their family while simultaneously saving the world, make sure they can only do one of them! This will cause lots of conflict and it will be great..
Get used to writing internal conflict. In one of my novels, the main character has the power to clean the world’s water supplies, but her friends disapprove for…complicated reasons. She has something of a mental breakdown, wondering if she should be doing what she is. Internal conflict is a great way to show your character being pulled in two different directions; after all, tearing our characters apart is the name of the game.
Make sure your character thinks that they are using their Ultimate Power for good. Even if they’re not. Especially if they’re not. When you can follow a villain’s logic and understand why they are doing the horrific things they are, they become that much creepier.
The Ultimate Power must be so attractive that your character can’t help but use it. The only way your character can be corrupted by power is if they use this power. Therefore, they must use it often. Whether this be a superpower, power that comes from the crown on their head, or dark magic, make sure your reader gets plentiful helpings of seeing the character use it.
Don’t be afraid to take it slow. Characters descend into madness, they don’t plummet into it. Let your character spiral slowly downwards, let them saunter casually into their twisted ways of thinking.
If they can’t be redeemed, they should probably die. Characters that have gone power mad really only have two options: redemption or death. Sometimes your character can pull out of their downward spiral and recognize their mistakes. This may lead to them siding with the very people they had been against, like Magneto teaming up with Prof X to fight a Bigger Baddie. Or they could just admit their mistakes and go on their way, like Mystique occasionally does.
But if you can’t find a way to redeem your character (or don’t want to), then you should probably consider killing them off. Characters mad with Ultimate Power™ are usually unsustainable, and will usually self destruct at some point.
A character who descends into their madness and power-craziness and has a descent that is really well written can be super engaging. They are, at least, my personal favorite to write and read about. Have fun, and happy writing!
If there’s a writing thing you want to see me post about or you just wanna say hi, go ahead! I’d love to hear from you.
... You already know what this is.
I was on pinterest when I saw this post and I knew what I had to do. I tried searching around for the poster online as it didn’t look like a tumblr post at first, as the poster’s url had been cropped out. BUT I fished around on tumblr and came across it.
I hope OP doesn't mind me reblogging for something like this, since it’s not the posts intended purpose. In any case, the original post gives some amazing tips that I couldn't help but see some similarities.
It’s long so I’ll cut it off here.
Daeneys and the mad king parallels
1. Weapons.
Aerys never allowed weapons near him.
-When Jon and his team arrive at dragonstone, they’re instantly stripped/robbed off their weapons. Daenerys obviously doesn’t want weapons near her.
2. Paranoia
-Aerys was often paranoid, he suspected his friends of betraying him and trusted no one.
-Daenerys falsely suspected Tyrion of siding with the Lannisters and wanting her dead, twice. There was also no point in her absurd ‘I will burn you’ speech to Varys, to which she owes a fuck load and whom she should really be thanking.
3. Insecurity
-Aerys was very insecure. He knew he wasn’t as clever as his Hand Tywin, and his insecurity led to a great deal of power show.
-Check out Dany’s list of ridiculous titles and her overall dialogues with anyone. No further explanation neccesary.
3. I am a dragon bullshit
-Aerys believed he’d return a dragon if he burned down King’s Landing.
-Daenerys always calls herself a dragon and she’s obsessed with fire. ((((She will also burn down King’s Landing))))
4. Father and Son
-Aerys burned down a father and a son, Rickard and Brandon Stark, for no good reason. Which came back to bite him in the ass.
-Daenerys burned down a father and a son, Randyll and Dickon Tarley, for no good reason. Which will come back to bite her in the ass.
5. Promising
-Aerys started off very promising, he wanted to become a good king and many believed that he would do well. Probably because they desperately wanted him to do well.
-Daenerys started off very promising, she genuinely wants to be a good queen, and far too many falsely think she will bring change for the better, because they’re desperate for better.
6. Impulsivity
-Aerys was very impulsive, he made choices not based on ratio and facts, but on his personal feelings. He was very revengeful and showed little remorse.
-Daenerys is impulsive, makes decisions that satisfy her own feelings of failure, hatred or regret, and she has killed people out of revenge when this had no actual strategic point.
7. Incest
-Aerys is a child of incest.
-Daenerys is a child of even more incest.
I think the main point here is number 5.
A lot of people forget that Aerys, in his younger years, was a very charismatic and charming man.
By the looks of all the people who meet her falling at her feet after a single conversation, the show is obviously trying to give the impression that Davirys Tannegan is charismatic.
I also think it’s telling that a lot of these points can be seen mainly in season 7 compared to any other season. Perhaps to make the mad queen transition a little smoother.
Listen y'all I did not go through 6 seasons of Sansa being abused and used for her not to survive and thrive in season 8. Let my girl be Queen in the North already.
MOOD
The highpoint of Sansa’s life shouldn’t be executing her abuser
Even if LF did deserve it and it was a good point of development in her arc
-
It should be her finally finding her happiness and belonging
I just want my girl to be simply happy
So… I took a quiz and apparently my personality’ was matched with dany (mother help me 😖🔫), but look at the descriptions! “Natural born leader” “Always think about your friends before making a decision” “Everyone loves you”
😂 😂 😂
“Always think about your friends before making a decision”
soooo remember that one time when she took off on Drogon and left all her ‘friends’ behind, surrounded by armed men?
I don't why the biggest problem some people,( more the casual fans have with the Jonsa fandom is how, when they go into the tag, they see so many metas and evidence. I remember one person saying it was like an FBI investigation or something like that? Was it was too much for them?
Like, why is it bad that we are making detailed and fact-based posts to prove our point? If we had nothing they’d mock us for that!
Never in my life have I heard of someone mocking people for doing more work than necessary, so why tf is it such a problem here? I don't even know, I really want to stay open to other views in the show but they make it so difficult.
Like...
WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM US?!
Since it’s mostly believed that Jon is the PTWP/Azor Ahai, it’s probably either going to be Davierys or Sansa that is Nissa Nissa.
And even though I’m a Jonsa shipper and believe that they are a true-love pair (or will be eventually), I’m going to be a little pissed off if Sansa’s whole life amounted to being a sacrifice. I don’t even think ‘she saved the realm by giving up her life’ reason is going to cut it.
Basically, I think D&D are going to screw this up whoever/whatever they pick. As much as I dislike Davierys, she doesn’t deserve to be a sacrifice either, but I don’t see how it could be anyone else other than these two, and I think the whole Winterfell is Nissa Nissa theory is too far-fetched.
