âwell.. iâm not trying to make things worse so surely if people have tried and failed then i canât make it worse from trying to make it better,â she spoke brows creasing together as she laughed at herself, it was such a mouthful what she had just said. there was an age gap between them that was significantly visible, she was only just legally able to drink closer to a teenager than twenty five but she never cared about age when it came to her work or people she was seeing in general â people wouldnât really question her being with him, they might judge it but it would actually make sense. itâs not like he would be the first to rebound with a girl as young as her. never had she been treated well by anyone in her life, her parents raised her and looked after her though there was always a sense of distance and resentment especially from her father and then the media always slammed her, hated her. everyone thought they could treat her poorly and that was alright and blair never really said much or did much because she wanted people to like her, she wanted the attention and sometimes they were paying her so really they did have every right. âi donât need to be wined and dined, itâs not really a big deal â i mean of course i would love it but,â she paused as she shrugged her shoulders, a soft smile on her lips, âitâs not necessary though iâm glad you want to take me out and show me another side to humanity. i appreciate it and everything you are doing for me,â sure she was helping him too, blair felt as though he was giving her a lot more than she was giving him and maybe he didnât feel that way, she did and the dark haired female would do anything to see the male smile. âthat sounds perfect, i think itâs the best way to start this little thing of ours, really see how it all plays out,â she chuckled her smile turning brighter, he was easy to get along with and instantly she liked his company, wanted to be around him more. the girl couldnât wait to move in, she hated living alone probably due to her loving attention. âyou just never know whats going to happen and itâs just a security blanket, chances are iâll never touch it,â she admitted with a slight shrug of her shoulders, âbut i would rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it â thank you for being reasonable and understanding my needs,â no one asked her what she needed and if she tried to voice herself she was often ignored, this was a breath of fresh air and weird in a way but the good sort of weird. sex not being a concern of his was a surprise because thats all people wanted her for generally, though that was something on the table for him and she would quite enjoy it or she thought. blair thought he would be more giving than anyone else she had sex with and it was always a good thing to break the ice and ease the tension after a hard day. she gave his hand a delicate squeeze, dark eyes enjoying the view of their hands laced together, âthis with you it just sort of feels right.. maybe its just because i know now i donât need to sleep with people who intimidate me and i donât need to be paranoid someone will try and leak what i do though i would take down anyone who did that â i feel free and so content and comfortable with you,â she tried to explain, thinking she sounded like a bit of an idiot so she let out a soft awkward chuckle. âiâll be cautious because if i did break something or ruin something then i would feel so awful.. god i would probably just pack my bags and leave because i would freak out about how you would reactâŠi tend to worry about things too much.â
Hades chuckled at her little ramble, amused by the outburst. âPrecisely, my dear.â The man hummed as he subtly looked over her again. It wasnât predatory or sexual, he was just analysing. Yes, she looked young and was maybe seven or eight inches shorter than him, but she was definitely not a child either. And unfortunately for her, in the few years that sheâd had in this business, she had yet to be treated with some honest respect. Sadly, he could identify with her for more reasons than one. When his brothers had taken over the family business, heâd taken the accounting side under the promise that he would not be treated differently for it. So whilst his youngest brother was CEO and the middle sibling watching the overseas side of the business, he was left with cold hard numbers.Â
âBlair, pet, please,â he hummed, shaking his head at her slowly, a gentle look on his face now. âYou are helping me immensely, giving up your time and playing along with my needs. You do not need to be taken to dinner, but you deserve it. Especially if you would enjoy it,â he promised, taking her hand between his two and squeezing it gently. Hades was being incredibly honest with her about this - though his luck with women had been low, he wouldnât let bitterness seep into his heart and treat what gifts he had with anything less than what they deserved. Besides, she was a beautiful young woman with an inexplicable radiance about her, like every smile was felt with every fibre of her being. What monster would he be not to let her shine?
âPrecisely. So long as Iâm not busy with work or prior appointments, I always appreciate good conversation and company.â Impossibly, her smile brightened even more. Gods, she was a diamond. No, that didnât do her justice. It was as if she took the smallest ray of light and made it blinding. If she truly wanted it, he would have no issue with the physical aspects of this contract... âYou must remember that you are under no obligation to be intimate with me at any point in time, even if I ask for it. It is no requirement, but rather if weâre both wanting then we can let that develop in its own way.âÂ
As her hand squeezed his own, he felt the urge to reach out and brush his fingers through her hair. Usually, he would immediately dismiss any such desires, but with the way she looked at him in that moment he allowed his hand to outstretch. The back of his knuckles danced over her cheek, before his hand settled cupping her face, his other interlaced with hers. âI... I know what you mean. You make me feel comfortable too.â He let out a short laugh of his own, smiling more in the last few minutes than he had in the last few days. âNo, donât do that. I donât want you living in worry in this place,â he explained, his thumb running small circles over the back of her hand. âJust tell me if something happens. Iâll understand.â
