Howdy folks! I’m Rei - finally decided to make a “meet the artist” page, so here’s some tidbits about me!

My main fandom related/miscellaneous art blog is @enbypotat53, and my OC related blog is @reidoesstuff ! Feel free to send asks or requests (anon asks are cool too!), and I’ll try my best to get to them! Info pages for my OCs will be in the works (hopefully) soon provided school/life doesn’t get in the way, and I’ll eventually get around to an actual OC Q&A, but in the meantime, questions about them are perfectly fine! I’m happy to ramble about those goobers 24/7!

GUYS WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT EPISODE. OH MY GOD. I don't think I've cried this hard over II since the S2 finale. Holy shit.

MY DOOMED KNIFECASE I'M GOING TO PUKE. I had to pause so many times to be able to get through this scene AUGH 💔💔 "They need you."/"I need YOU!" YOUR HONOUR I LOVE THEM SO MUCHHHH :(((

The shippers were truly fed with this episode because what the fuck do you MEAN. Just- everything about this episode was so indulgent in the BEST way 💙 "ASK YOUR MOTHER" FAN?? FAN??? BUDDY???? Fantube is thriving your honour (also I just wanna mention the disability/physical therapy element in this episode because that means so much to me. Bot and Test Tube supporting Fan when walking? Fan needing to take breaks and getting visibly tired? It's a small detail but one I appreciate SO much.)

THEY KISSED. I REPEAT: THEY KISSED. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Also shoutout to the Payjay "I'm so proud of you" scene - that was hella cute :'3

Did you not THINK about what effect that line would have on me. Guys I'm not doing well the fact that the ghosts can't tag along is making me so sad. The lesbians stay winning but at what cost. They're so doomed and it hurts my soul. Owch.

SPEAKING OF LESBIANS HOLY GROWTH FROM TACO IN THIS EPISODE?? I would've included the forest scene but something something 10 image limit and I can't not include this scene because it made me audibly cackle. Soap became so enveloped in jealousy it turned her homophobic and I think that's glorious. Something something the "out in the open" line being a nod to not having to hide one's sexuality and being able to embrace who you truly are. God they make me sick Tacomic I love you 💙

Happy family!! I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Lightbrush, so that ending scene made me smile so hard. They're just living their best life with their son :'3

I would've included Trophbox because that scene was hella cute but I'm biased and gay and this scene was so fucking funny 💔 Nickel rushing to defend his boyfriend's honour and pointing out how much he's grown, meanwhile Baseball is just. A picky eater. This and the "HAHA, YOU'LL NEVER STOP MY DENIAL!" scene had me screaming 😭 I'm so glad my boy Baseball gets some more screen time, I've missed him 💙

This episode was genuinely amazing though - I have so many scenes I wish I could talk about more but my brain is fried and I'm still processing Literally Everything about the episode as we speak. I'm definitely making fanart at some point though - there's too much potential NOT to.

Having ADHD whilst playing Minecraft is an Experience, lemme tell you that.

I built my house, thought "I should decorate it!", and instead got distracted and proceeded to build a farm, an enchantment tower, and terraformed a small cliff to embed my nether portal in.

I ALSO have the issue of dogshit memory, so half the time I forget what I was doing moments after getting the blocks from my storage, OR running out of blocks halfway through a build, sprinting back to my house, and in the 20 second journey inbetween I've somehow forgotten what I needed and end up leaving with everything EXCEPT what I came for.

I shit you not, I'm on day 173 and I'm just now decorating my house after going on a quest to get 6 cats, a parrot, and a horse. I finished the exterior of my house on day 40. Somebody help me.

on the topic of disabled characters, though, i think a LOT of artists give characters mobility aids that their character wouldn't actually benefit from using.

i'm sort of having a mild brain fog moment rn so i can't fully articulate what i'm on about, but i think a lot of able-bodied artists view things like canes and crutches as interchangeable. and they often don't know enough about the wide range of mobility aids to make an informed decision about what their character might actually use based on their disability

i also think that aids like walkers and rollators are sort of viewed as "cringe" on some level, and many people view them to be "just for old people," so many artists will opt for giving a character who has full-body pain and fatigue a cane (which, in many cases, can potentially WORSEN full-body pain) instead. and a lot of people don't realize that most wheelchair users are able to walk, so they don't consider it an option for characters with chronic pain

idk it's kind of frustrating. i've genuinely never, ever seen a character that uses a rollator before. not once. i cannot name a single one. i know of multiple ocs who are described to have full-body pain, dizziness, and fatigue that are drawn as cane users and are never shown with wheelchairs or walkers, though

it's also sort of sad? i've been diagnosed since i was twelve years old, and i only heard of rollators LAST YEAR. and that was only because i saw one irl and immediately asked what it was. i wonder how many disabled people out there don't even know it's an option solely because they're completely underrepresented online and in media

if you're a creative with a disabled oc, PLEASEEE check out this link. it's a very nice and detailed guide for telling which mobility aids suit someone's needs best. it's incredibly important to make the right choice for your character! mobility aids tell you a LOT about someone's lived experience. picking the right one will communicate to your audience #1 what your character goes through #2 that you UNDERSTAND what your character goes through!
