Facts You Might Not Know About VK
This has nothing to do with the ships, but I feel there is some overlooked details of the manga that no one ever really talks about so that’s why this post is coming into existence. Hino really glosses over these things but they’re pretty interesting, well at least to me, haha.

Cross Academy was originally the first Hunter Association.
Cross Academy isn’t just a high school, it does pre-K through college.
Cross Academy, the school, existed before Kaien. His parents were the ones who ran it and he took it over from them. He only added the “Night Class” in order to bring about pacifism. Rather than that, the functions of the school were made by his family. Hence, “Cross” academy.
Cross Academy is a famous school and is viewed as a high ranking private school.
All the residents in the town of where they live are either vampires, vampire hunters, or work for the hunter society. With a minority of people being just human.
Juuri, when she was the age of being a highschooler, asked to go to a school in a different town where there was no vampires so she could feel human and live among them peacefully. Her parents permitted this only if Haruka went, which of course he did.
Sara Shirabuki’s first love was Asato Ichijo.
Yuuki got the best dorm room in the Sun dorms because she’s the Headmaster’s daughter.
Yuuki and Sayori love to sit around the table in their room and talk about “girl” things.
Takuma has “weird” collections all around his room. These collections often being about his newest obsession.
Kaname’s clothes are made by a tailor that is specifically just for the Kuran bloodline.
Zero’s dorm room is the smallest room in Sun Dorms because he is the only one with a single bedroom room.
Yuuki had a caretaker when she was younger to take care of her and tutor her because Kaien had work and couldn’t be there to take care of Yuuki 24/7.
When she was younger, Yuuki had a really nonchalant attitude towards Kaien before she warmed up to him.
Hanabusa is the one who’s most connected to the “outside world” because of his scientific research. More so, one of his hobbies, is to write research papers.
The Hunter Association is tied to the government and is actually categorized as “classified” and has been decided to be kept secret from the general public.
On the night of the Cross Academy ball, Kageyama was able to piece together the relationship between the trio just by looking at them and their current situation.
Though it’s not shown in the manga that much, Senri has one of the biggest fan bases as he is a model and the most perceived to be a celebrity.
As a private school, Cross Academy has benefactors. Two of these benefactors are Sayori’s father and Asato Ichijo.
Kaito wasn’t made up by Hino but actually the person who writes the novels, Ayuna Fujisaki. But Hino liked him so much, she put him in the manga.
Yagari is considered to be the best vampire hunter alive.
Rido was the who killed his parents.
Rido never meant to make Juuri die, it was something he had greatly miscalculated.
Yuuki is considered a tomboy due to her carefree behavior, like getting parfaits on her face when eating, and jumping off rooftops.
In their society, even a dress that isn’t completely frilly is taken to be boyish.
The train they take in the manga connects them to the rest of the world. It can be assumed this means the trains travels over or under water as when the Night Class traveled for the holidays, they traveled so far, that the climate changed completely.
Hanabusa developed the blood tablets.
Zero and his family were like what military family’s are in our society, they moved very often due to their job and were constantly changing houses and schools.
That’s all I can think of from the top of my head! I know some of these people already know, but I feel like Hino didn’t pay them enough attention. Hope you enjoyed reading a little more about Vampire Knight and it’s characters!
