mack talks so so so softly to will. instead of lecturing will on how he should've done it so the puck wouldn't have bounced, mack gave will a new perspective on the mistake by acknowledging will's effort. he loves will so much and won't have will putting himself down when he's around.

the worst part? macklin is actually really smart when it comes to strategy games like catan (per cat) and rummikub (per tabea) and has an insanely high hockey iq. within artificially small worlds, microcosms and sets of rules-based systems he seems to thrive.

macklin: my favorite snack is gum, i don't know what my favorite movie is, i've never been to a concert, i'm not sure if i use shampoo or not i'll have to think about it, i woke up at 5am when i was a kid and skated and skated and ran up hills and stare at the puck, i was homeschooled and played hockey mostly, and then i went to hockey school for hockey and played hockey there, and then i wen't to college for hockey, i don't read every day i play hockey, i'm gonna relax more this summer unlike last summer so i will day drink every day for (1) week and then sign up for yet another international hockey tournament, why are you looking at me like that i am normal!! I know who princess diana is!

enter will smith: here eat this banana bread and dubai chocolate i made, and let's go to a fancy italian restaurant, you haven't seen american pie?? ok lets watch that, and all these other ones, and here we'll go golfing and then go to this new cafe that opened up, and we should start a board game night, and let's have a book club (dw we can listen to the audiobook together while we hit each other with ping pong balls), and lets create and obstacle course and see who can win, and then we can drive around and run errands. and also hockey is still there too, don't worry!
