Hear me out, celestial being gets trapped on earth as a form of punishment from a greater celestial being, slowly comes to love earth and humanity and its faults and imperfections, but she is eternal, and we are not, so she watches,when cities turn to dust, she watches, when wars we inflict upon ourselves slowly destroy us, she watches,

Watching cityscapes turn to dust
Filming helicopters crashing
In the ocean from way above"
And when her lovers die in her arms,leaving her behind, ever eternal, she is yet again, forced to watch. She hides the kisses from those lovers deep inside her.
"Kisses on the foreheads of the lovers
Wrapped in your arms
You've been hiding them in hollowed out pianos
Left in the dark"
Eventually she finds a human which she grows to love too much, she is there throughout his life and gives him a locket as a symbol of her love.

Finally, the other celestial being orders her to come back to her home, but she has grown fond of earth and does not wish to leave, but she does not have any other choice, for if she refuses to return, that being will destroy earth and it's inhabitants, so she pleads with it for another month with her lover, and it accepts.

After she tells her lover of what she truly is and tells him that she now must return, she tries to spend as much time with her lover as possible, but they are both aware of the deadline slowly creeping up on them

Eventually, when the deadline comes, she cannot bear to leave her lover, but they are aware that their love might be the end of humanity.

Eventually, she leaves and her lover begs her to visit him the only way she can from up above.
