It’s been a little over a year from proton radiation and. Chemo
It’s been a year. Two months after I finished chemo and five months after radiation I started going to a gym two months after finishing chemo. I’ve been going three times a week. Things are going really well. The tumor hasn’t grown at all since the proton radiation
Never knowing
So I started the radiation last week. So far I notice I get tired after it. I ran into my radiologist when we were leaving MGH and he said its normal to feel like that and it's like being in a part time job. I see him again today. Yesterday there was so much rain things were put on hold.
Radiation and chemo start I'll keep everyone updated
Chemo came today and I start proton radiation tomorrow. I knew this day would come but I thought I had more time. But it is the way it is. I'll post how i feel.
Ct scan mei
Everything is going good the ct scan was clear. The mri had revealed my brain tumor hasn't grown over the past year but when it does grow which my doctor said could be soon. I'm being watched every three months when it does grow the doc was saying I'll start chemo and radiation together and go with the chemo from there.
A crazy month
Sorry it's taken me awhile to write this. It has been a crazy month for me. September 18th I went in for an MRI they told me my brain tumor grew so they sent me to a radiologist oncologist and he agreed but said I needed proton radiation versus photon radiation. I went to MGH (mass general hospital) the radiologist agreed that my case fit, for eventually needing proton radiation. He said to use it as a last resort. I told my neuro oncologist and he said I could wait and if MGH didn't do proton and chemo at the same time then I would be needing to do the photon radiation. My next appointment there is in January. It was crazy hearing all this and then seeing how the doctors change their minds cuz of what another one said. I also did the Jimmy fund walk and my team did an amazing job. I have also gone on a mini vacation to New Hampshire after all this and went hiking with my brother and his dog Pete.
An eventful week
I saw a few movies this week, tmnt aka Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles it was an awesome movie and would rent it on DVD. The other movie I saw was the Purge: Anarchy. I had a cookout with my family which was fun! Also a bunch of us went to Water Country USA my first time there it was really fun! It's sad knowing that the summer is almost over.
Hi! I wanted to let ppl know that The Purge: Anarchy has a scene (around when the violence really starts) with a close up of ppl shooting an automatic rifle. The shots are very bright, and creates a strobe effect for a few seconds. Made me a bit uncomfortable, and I don't even have photosensitive seizures. Figured your blog would get the word out better.

Road Trip and Wedding
Congratulations to my friends Mike and Yael who got married today! Yesterday I drove my longest trip of 5 1/2 hours to NY. I drove myself and was stuck on 95/Long Island Express way. I saw old friends from college who have helped me through so much! I also met new people,last night and today it has been really amazing to see two awesome friendly and helpful friends get married!
July 4th
I had a fun time on the fourth it rained on the fourth but I still saw friends and stayed over night because of the flooding a happening around the roads. The next day i went to a fun carnival!
Check up
Well I had a cold that I had gotten better from before my CT Scan. The doctor S. Is not to worried about what was discovered with a few enlarged lymph nodes in my lungs. He has changed my appointment back to ever six months. Nothing to be worried about I'm sure it was from remnants of a cold we can only hope!
Vacation!
I got back from vacation it was amazing. I decided to post today for a reason, about vacation. Today is and was Ann Franks Birthday. I was able to see her place of hiding.
I flew out of Logan Airport on time and spent 7 hours on the plane. We landed at the airport in Amsterdam. We walked to our Hotel which was near the train station connected to the airport.We landed on May 21st which was my moms birthday. we checked into the hotel went down the canal which showed us the biggest bike parking garage around. Down to where most of the museums are. We eventually go by Ann Franks house.
We walk around Amsterdam and run into the red light district it was less then a block behind the hotel that we were staying in. It had many different shops in that section for women some where for men. They also had red lights outside some of the houses and women would be appearing in the windows and they would shout out the window trying to get peoples attention.
The next day we went to Ann Franks house it was kind of weird being in the secret room. My grandma had been there when she had been in Amsterdam years before. Growing up she always said she knew Ann Frank from meeting her in the hospital which they shared. Then we went to the Van Gogh museum. Then we went to the museum which is right down the street. It is the museum that was where the main museum of the city was from. It had so many different painters and it was amazing. The next day we went to Rembrandt museum where many of his paintings were painted and the school for kids was. We then went to the Jewish Museum in Amsterdam this was the day before the shootings that happened at the Jewish Museum in Brussels. After this we went through the whole zoo in Amsterdam. The next day we go on a day trip seeing where windmills are and how they made their wooden shoes. That night when we go to a restaurant the waitress asked us how we liked Amsterdam and when we told her we loved it she was shocked we did a lot of touristy attractions but at the same time did stuff they would normally do at home.
The next day we got onto the train and went to Brussels. We walked around Brussels looking at the many different areas. The next day was my brothers birthday and we went on a beer tour and we saw Jeff Beck play. The next day we went to Bruge. We climbed the tower that was in the movie, In Bruge. The next day we left Brussels and went to Paris.
We get into the hotel and we go right to the Louvre it was an amazing museum. From there we left and went for dinner. the next day we walked the gardens and saw where the guillotine walked to the Arc de Triumph, we then walked by the crystal palace and saw where Napoleon was buried. Then we went on a boat tour of the city. I heard that the lock bridge made out of locks collapsed a few days after we got home. The next day we went to Giverny,it was amazing it shows the paintings were done perfectly, and showed Monet was a good painter. The next day we went all around Paris and I got to see Notre-Dame de Paris. I climbed to the top it was amazing.
I was really happy that I could go on vacation and get away from everything for awhile and I got to go to places I always wanted to go.
Good News!
Sorry for the delay in posting I know I said it before, but I have been busy. I wasn't around for a bit. I was doing many different things to get ready for my trip while at the same time I was getting ready to hear the results of the tests that where coming. I had to reschedule my MRI and appointment with my doctor for a few days early. He was busy and had to change it and then my CT-Scan needed to be changed too, because of timing.
I get into Boston early I had to drop a suite case at my sisters apartment. We rushed to get to Dana-Farber on time. I get in and I check in for blood work in one area that they said is normal to check into, and they tell me to go right to the MRI room and wait for the blood work there. I check in at the MRI section as the person told me to do. I get there the blood work got done fast they did it in one go which hasn't happened in a very long time. Even after haven't having chemo in over a year now. I get into the MRI machine takes the usual time they were a bit late because they had to wait for me to come back from blood work. It took the usual time.
I get out of the MRI machine and go for lunch. We rush through lunch because of wanting to be on time for Dr. Patrick. We get up there my parents are with me about ten minutes before my appointment is set to start. They do the vital signs and then we wait to see Dr. Patrick. We wait for over an hour and half for Dr. Patrick. First comes in two nurses of Dr. Patrick then comes in a chemo specialists. Then Dr. Patrick comes in and we see the different MRI's they compare them to. Dr. Patrick goes to me that I shouldn't change what I'm doing because of what he can see the remaining part of the brain tumor didn't grow. I was happy hearing those words. He also gave me the clear that I can fly and still go on vacation!
Sorry I haven't been on I've been busy, with school and other parts for joining an organization and lots of memorization working hard and I started writing a book. I haven't gotten far in it but I'm writing a murder mystery just for fun. I have had this idea since back in high school when I attended St. Andrews. Next month will be busy but it will be good!
The move
It's been crazy for me moved furniture and things out of my parents place into my own it will be crazy finally getting back out there myself
Ice skating
It was a lot of fun but quit after an hour and half because of the rain hitting frog pond. Had a good lunch and just had a fun day.
Bear memories
Back in June 2012 I was in Lincoln NH I came out of the cabin I heard my brother yelling my name so I asked him what was up he said get into the cabin a bear was at his car, after he said this the bear came out. It had to be 400 pounds, atleast. We both got in and from the windows we saw the bear about a foot away, from the windows running back into the woods. Bikers who were in the state for the bike show even came from Canada. They were out and cooking at the cabin next to us on the grill when the bear came and didn't even see it. They kept saying there was no bear. I was thinking of this today then my brother texted me about it today. It was a crazy experience. Then after this I got a phone call the person said I was strong. After everything I went through. I'm surviving trying to live my life like I should! For a lot of things I do want to get through what I'm looked on as. I mean we all have our own Beatles out there somewhere. Some of us are better at handling it then others.
