After reading the interview AND AMAZING SYPNOSIS OF THE SEASON FINALE, my thoughts always tell me that I will forever love this amazing ship even if they aren’t a couple on screen. Cause the fact they love each other so much is outstanding and after all they’ve been through, they stuck by each others side cause they’ll always be meant to be. I know the writers might miss out on writing Oswald and Ed as murder husbands conquering Gotham, but the thing is as far as we’ve seen, these two best friends are the kind of friends who fight like an old married couple, killed Mr. Leonard together and that to me makes the ship very canon, and that’s already very enetertaining enough. (even though I really want them to kiss PFFT)

Them being an actual couple would be a lovely add. Maybe even just a little romance between them. But regardless, I love Gotham, and these boys so much AND I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THEM MURDER MORE PEOPLE TOGETHER!! 💚💜🔫🔫🔪🔪

let’s talk about that nygmobblepot scene in 3x18

I know there are so many metas (and other similar posts) out there discussing this scene but I thought I’d throw my two cents in because I just wanted to analyse it.

all of the gifs used in this post are from this edit I made btw.

so after oswald has ranted to the man putting him in the cage, we hear ed say “oswald?”

the gif is a lot shorter than the actual scene, in reality oswald stares forward for a bit before slowly turning around. we can assume the long pause before he turns around is partly out of shock, but also oswald preparing himself. it’s one thing to hear ed’s voice, it would be an entirely different thing to actually see him.

when he does turn around, and initially steps forward, he does it all slowly. we can assume everything is coming at him all at once so it’s got to be hard to process what’s happening. ed being there came completely out of left field. he probably would never have expected to end up right next to ed. he’s spent almost all of his time since waking up with these thoughts of wanting to kill ed and a lot of that time was spent actively seeking him out to no avail and suddenly he ends up in the cage right next to ed? it would be like some kind of sick joke because finally oswald has found ed, but he’s just out of reach.

oswald’s feelings are bound to be mixed at this point. all the anger he’s been carrying is still going to be there in some (small) way and if he truly did love ed (which I believe he did, and still does) then a part of him would be overwhelmed that the person he loves, the person he was arguably closest to (who’s still alive) is in front of him.

it would explain why he seems so calm. he’s so preoccupied by this sudden revelation that his mind is too busy trying to process it all. and this sudden overwhelming feeling he must have at seeing ed in the flesh would be enough to keep any anger from erupting (for now).
