Thank you to everyone that came to Harrison’s party last night, and in turn to our very impromptu wedding… I can truly say I never expected to get married, let alone in a “prince and princess” themed ceremony, but my wife and I are incredibly happy with the way things turned out. I guess a honeymoon is now on the cards. Any romantic suggestions?

Ooooh, now I’m super bummed I couldn’t make it. Maybe you could go somewhere with a lot of castles to fit in with your prince and princess theme? There’s something weirdly romantic about them.

Work sucks, but tonight there was a group of fucked up people that broke out a ouija board after a few drinks. It probably had about half the people around them scared shitless, which made it slightly more entertaining, at the very least.

Who knew so many people still believed in ghosts? I feel like most of the charm is lost anyway when you don’t do it at home in the dark. Were people really that bothered?

Yeah, though I can’t immediately think of a Hallmark movie that starts with having to listen to the other person hook up with their housemate. Not exactly my vision of a romantic love story. I am, however, fully signing up for a platonic relationship where he cooks for me and I contribute by giving book recommendations and give them my employee discount.

I’m a great pancake maker but definitely did not have a hot date last night. Also definitely didn’t stay up all night reading about the anatomy of a squirrel just ‘cause I fell down an Internet rabbit hole (squirrel hole, tbh) of what if I hit this animal with my car and oh no how do I save them. 

I’m rooting for you and the pancake dude, though. Just put out a flyer saying, “Missing: Hot Pancake Guy that My Roommate Slept With” with a little stick drawing of him and bump the reward up to 50 big ones and you’re golden. 

That was... oddly specific. Is there something that led to this crisis, or just the Wikipedia hole? Go you for wanting so save hypothetical squirrels, though. I’m sure their hypothetical friends and family are very thankful. Did you find an answer, though? 

You see, you had me until the 50 big ones. I could order pancakes 3, maybe 4, times with that. Also brought by a stranger at my doorstep at any time I want. And the bonus is that I won’t have to listen to their nightly adventures. Another thing that makes the internet fantastic.

I’m not entirely sure I’m in the possession of the right... ‘materials’ for that kind of adventure. Or maybe I am, who the hell am I to be the judge of that. He’s not really my type anyway. Though a man that can actually cook definitely crosses an extra box.

Oh… Well, I think public sex is, like, a kink. So it’s not for everyone. But you should defs try it, the thrill is so worth it. Movie and book review podcasts sound boring, wouldn’t you rather just read the book yourself?? Crime is totes a good time, though.

I think I’ll spare people of that shock. They’re actually pretty fun to listen to when you’ve just seen them or read them. They often notice little details you don’t, or give you some background information. But I guess I can see why they aren’t for everyone. The crime ones are often so crazy! I try not to get into them too much, though... they don’t exactly showcase the best in people. Don’t they make you feel sad at times?

I’m a little jealous. Blueberry pancakes are the best. I had a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast. You should just tell your roommate that you need this guy’s number. You clearly made a nice friendship connection.

Ooh... yay for another member of the boring breakfast club! People who can actually bring up the energy to cook in the morning, will forever be a mystery to me. Guess that includes this guy. I can’t say I really talked to him longer than 5 minutes. But men aren’t the only ones with a direct line between heart and stomach.

I feel like the mystery, or what was left of it, is probably the best part of it. It’s probably not going to get better than getting food from a stranger in your own house. And I already have Uber Eats for that.

I don’t know about that, I’ve tried some pretty bad ones before. Normally ones I make myself. Yeah, it’s a pretty big family, but it was always fun. I’m actually the second youngest, my sister is three years younger than me and then the other four are older. Do you have siblings? I get that, I was looking for someplace pretty fast, too. I should’ve probably looked a bit harder in hindsight, but I guess what can you do, right? I don’t know, I think it annoys her that I spend so much time studying, she mostly just wants to party. Don’t get me wrong, I like parties too, but I’m a vet student, so it’s just a lot of work, you know? I need the quiet sometimes.

Yes, but did you finish them? And weren’t they still secretly better than most other things you could be having for breakfast? Four older siblings? Damn, that sounds fun, actually. Did you guys get along? I only have one, and I’m the youngest. I was such a fussy baby (or so they told me) that I don’t think my parents had the courage to have another one. Luckily that turned around pretty quickly. Yeah, same. And I’ve looked around for some new places but all the ones I’ve seen that are actually kind of nice, require a roommate. And I totally get what you mean, not the studying or the vet part (which is, by the way, pretty darn impressive), but the quiet. The power of just a nice evening in with a book or a film, is so underrated.

Or I mean, maybe sometimes Lacey’s, because I bring her good coffee, but outside of that, probably no one’s.

Syrup? Sounds adventurous and like you’re overestimating my cooking skills by the full 100%. I love that. Let’s keep it that way. Really? I don’t believe that one for a minute. And otherwise you’re totally hanging out with the wrong people.

Thank you! It’s definitely been the most exciting day of my whole thirty-one years so far, I don’t think anything’s ever going to top it. It’s okay, I haven’t slept much the past few weeks anyway, twins make it super hard to find a comfortable position, so I’m used to it by now. She loved it, she’s so excited that they’re here on her birthday.

I’m sure that them going off to college will be the next blissful moment, after you’ve had to deal with 2 kids going through puberty at the same time. On the other hand, you have two times the amount of squishy hands and feet now. Just hand off that twice the amount of diapers to that husband of yours (or fiancé? I’m clearly good at keeping track), mommy deserves some rest.

Today is the most special day, because not only is it our eldest daughter’s fifteenth birthday, but this morning, at 2:18 and 2:44, Grant and I finally got to meet our babies! Carson came first, Carter followed, and despite surprising us a couple weeks early, both are doing super well. I’m exhausted and they’re loud, but they’re very excited to meet all of their new aunts and uncles, and of course their big sister. What a birthday gift!

(Oh, btw, it’s not my birthday. It’s Caroline’s, so they’re her gift. Carson and Carter’s birthday, though, too!)

Congratulations! If that doesn’t make your day, I don’t know what will. You better get used to that exhausted part, though I guess you already figured that out. How did Caroline react to her birthday present?

Not uncomfortable. Just not into the whole public side of it all, I guess? I listen to a few different ones. Some just reviewing books and movies, but I’ve recently found some crime ones I really like. Guess that comes close enough to the ghost category?

I have five siblings, so that was always a lot, but obviously that’s different… They’re my siblings. Do you know your roommates, or are they just random people you house share with? I don’t really know my roommate very well, I don’t think she likes me too much, though, so I mean, that’s kind of awkward.

I mean, pancakes are never bad. Even when they are.  Five siblings? Damn. I don’t know if I would ever survive that. Are you with the older or the younger ones, though? Can’t say I really know them too well. I didn’t have a lot of time to find a place to live and they were looking for a new housemate fast, so... They’re not bad, but it’s mostly convenient, I guess. She doesn’t like you? Sounds impossible.

ooh, one hundred percent yes please! My cooking logic would say to just add blueberries and call it a day. But if there’s one thing that’s heavily flawed: it’s that same cooking logic. You’re officially my favorite person of today. Or maybe second, after the legend himself.
