Day 1: back to writing and off social media. Time to focus on me.
Life outside of work is sometimes just like work. You’re vastly recognized for your screw ups, what you didn’t do, what you forgot to do rather all the good things you did. One full day of pure happiness just to be ruined by one short falling. Time to refuel and take some alone time.

The world manifests itself. Let’s take all things good and make them bad just because we can (even though we know we shouldn’t). What rubbish.
We need more acts of kindness. One a day is all it takes.
Portland, Oregon - First Impressions
So far, as expected. Gloomy, chilly (but warmer than I expected), ice/snow on the roads. A hybrid between Colorado and St. Louis if you may. It has a sense of emptiness to it but not in a bad way.
Portland is certainly not a fan of Christmas. The Christmas decor is scarce considering it’s a day after the holiday!
6/7/22 and in a good place. Not looking for answers, just living.

Quotes/questions (by my Godson while we traveling Florida) worth repeating:
Why are pineapples called pineapples if they don’t contain apples or pines?
The tooth fairy was cheap this year, she only paid me $5 instead of $10 this year.
Good things are coming. Working towards goals, plan in place but I’m in no rush. Working through the challenges. Volleyball, short term education, long term education, zen space, beach house, becoming her, future home….wake up and smell the beach sand 😉. Design drawings are to construction as…..
Patience is virtue.
“It’s okay to change your yes to a no. Yeses aren’t permanent. They’re something we choose again and again, each and every day. Something we have the right to recall and reconsider as soon as saying yes no longer feels conducive to our wellbeing and happiness. It doesn’t matter whether you said yes to a job, a date, a relationship, sex, a favor to a friend, a social endeavor, or a vow of silence — you don’t ever have to commit to something that forces you to compromise who you are and what feels right; especially if it’s something you agreed to under pressure, intimidation, or force. Changing your yes to a no might make people angry. It might hurt their feelings, cause them to see you as a flake, and result in lost connections. But if saying no means staying true to yourself, honoring your feelings, and making self-care a priority, it’s worth it. You are worth it. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.”
— Daniell Koepke
Hit home
“The future is more exponentially exploding rents. The future is more condo buildings, more luxury housing bought by shell companies of the global wealthy elite. The future is more Whole Foods, aisles of refrigerated cut fruit packaged in plastic containers. The future is more Urban Outfitters, more Sephoras, more Chipotles. The future just wants more consumers.”
— Ling Ma, Severance

“So please ask yourself: What would I do if I weren’t afraid? And then go do it.”

“She didn’t need to be saved. She needed to be found and appreciated for exactly who she was.”

Sometimes hope only feeds the addiction. Manipulates the mind to forget about reality.
Starting to think I’m missing something. Blinded by my stubbornness. Time to pray because if you’re not growing you’re dying.
Realizing that all all those times I’ve encouraged my daughter to engage with other humans, make the phone call, order from waiter, make the purchase, was so key to her fruition. She has such a reliable gut feeling, can read people and think on her feet.
Listening to her explain to me how she had that tough conversation with her friend, worked through the problem and then encouraged her friend to communicate about how she was feeling so she could understand was everything.
“I am still learning.”

“Love and work are the cornerstones of our humanness.”
