❝ No, — that’s not a comet, it’s a meteor. Y’know, the ones people call shooting stars ! There’s clearly a difference. ❞
Glim adores insects. Not all, of course, she can do without the nasty creepy crawlies, but butterflies, fireflies, bumblebees, etc. are all up her alley. They’re so elegant, graceful, & free to explore, & they all do their part for the world, albeit small and under appreciated.

HIATUS. UNTIL JULY.
I will be gone on vacation to Germany with no wifi for a month !! Upon return I hope to get back into action here, as I will be working on responses to threads there ! See ya’ll then -u- !!
spooky & scary:
She paid no heed to the… thing’s screams, and if anything it just encouraged her to get closer. This ( what she presumed was wax ) figure appeared in her forest, posing a potential trap or threat to herself or anything else in the forest. It was once almost lifeless; still, un-moving,cold, and it was surely nothing organic. Obviously at first glance it WAS a trap, but now she was unsure. It was trying to get away from her, so San ruled that possibility out. Maybe it was a new god ? No, she didn’t believe gods were made this way.
However, if San put too much thought into this, the creature would get away. Now determined to not let that happen, she swiftly grabbed the others arm and held it firm. She had no intention of letting them go so easily, not when she herself was swimming with questions.
❝ WHO are YOU ? ❞
This was a nightmare ! ; teeth grit together as her chest heaved painfully, a hushed hyperventilation that shuddered throughout her lanky frame. All rational thought seemed to be overwhelmed by terror: to run, hide, get away as fast as possible, and twice as far. Unfortunately, the horrified screams did little to call off the monster, rather, it appeared to entice it. From the frantic survey of the surrounding area as black irises darted across it, she was in a forest, and it was likely no one was even around to hear her, much less save her. Glim was trapped: lost in unknown territory, and locked in the ferocious creature’s hardened gaze.
A delicate hand reached back to clutch onto a nearby tree trunk, both to steady herself and gain some sense of security in distance. However, that wanted distance was hardly acquired, for suddenly, within the blink of an eye, it was upon her: a hand cuffed itself tightly round her wrist, strong as iron.
This was it, the thought blared in her ears, but Glim wasn’t going to give in so easily; with a panicked twist to escape from her captor's grasp, incidentally, the wax maiden lurched backward on her feet as her arm snapped just below the elbow. Fright flashed before her eyes, and in the moment, she found the words to speak. ❝ I-I’m Glim — and that’s my arm. G-Give it back. ❞
@origcmibird continued from here:
Despite his obvious displeasure of the situation, Glim couldn’t help the faint giggle that shivered up her throat as slim legs sallied forth to him. ❝ Oh, poor Kubo — wait a second . . . ❞ Upon closer inspection, black irises danced across him: he was soaked down to the bone ! A hand reached out as curious digits barely grazing over him before she pulled back, leaving fingertips rubbing together in response to the biting chill. Brows drew together in concern, and likewise, voice pitching as she spoke. ❝ — You’re freezing ! “
Immediately, wax droplets swung about her as she flounced away to get a blanket, and on return, draped it over his shoulders. Sounds like he had a bit more trouble with the river than Kubo was letting on. ❝ What ? Did the river swallow you whole like a gigantic water monster ? ❞
dazed & obviously confused:
HE TURNS – tawny eye darting for the ‘ridge’ she had pointed out to him with the faintest shreds of confusion. “ You’re from here? ” Strange and new things can hide in even the most conspicuous places, he thought – but then again, he had yet to realize where he was. The boy had been blissfully unaware up until this point – believing himself to be in new territory that had gone unexplored beyond the familiar woods.
“ DIFFERENT? … How so? ” Insecurity suddenly rises up inside him, right eye darting to the side in a brief moment of faltering eye contact. Did she mean the absence of his left orb? It wasn’t uncommon for strangers who came across him and started up a decent conversation with him to actually ask that question ( to which he would answer as vaguely as possible, ) but then a second sentence bounces in his thoughts in swift retaliation: ‘I’m different? You look like you’re made of wax!’ He hadn’t realized yet that humans weren’t exactly present in this new land.
The light confusion held in both his tone and expression was duly noted, to which Glim felt provoked / impelled to give an explanation; it was unusual, she suspected, for people to reside in the marshlands on the outskirts of Day and Night civilization. A dainty finger drifted tentatively to tuck a waxen droplet behind her ear, accompanied by sagging shoulders. ❝ It’s because . . . I don’t live with the rest of the village; it’s just my dad and me — in a hut — under a rock. ❞ In the way Glim spoke, it was adorned with discontent: with hand gestures wide and grand in the clarification of her home, but her expression was nothing but lackluster. Father always said that living away from the people who didn’t understand them was for the best . . . but when stranded alone with only yourself to keep you company, unavoidable loneliness questioned that logic.
A finger tapped idly on her chin as she inspected the boy, offering up a slight shrug and raised hands. ❝ I guess I’ve never seen anyone like you before. Ever. ❞ As much as she cared very little for the one big question that lingered in the back of her mind, and practically everyone’s when met with someone different from themselves, Glim excused it as more of an insightful question rather than discriminatory. ❝ — Are you from Day or Night ? ❞
this lil lady is all limbs istg. i just . . . need to see someone’s reaction to glim’s arm just casually S N A P P I N G O F F — by accident ofc ( perhaps by tugging/pulling onto her arm too roughly it doesn’t take that much ) — AND THEN PURE TERROR until glim reheats it on

@beastguardiian ♡ ‘d this post !!
Had her body been animated, rather than stiff in her frozen, seemingly dead state, Glim’s brow would’ve quivered from the fit of nightmares that plagued her unconscious mind; unusual creatures, the sickening dread of feeling misplaced, running down a never-ending corridor. She couldn’t seem to escape this Realm of Dreams, until — little by little — warmth from the sun’s rays filtered through the canopy top of the forest, and spread across her body. Toes wriggled, a jolt of life rose a gasp for air in her chest . . . and, at last, her eyes open to —
❝ AAEEEH ! ❞ A shriek pitched, shrill and sharp in her apparent terror; an appropriate, normal reaction when met face to face with a creature’s hallowed eyes, and a mouth to match, equally daunting in its endless, dark chasm appearance. Just the sort of monsters Glim previously escaped in her nightmares. Tumbling off of the stone slat her body laid upon, slim feet clumsily backed up from the creature, stumbling on the occasional tree root. ❝ Get AWAY from me ! ❞
boi if you don’t:
“ NO IT WASN’T. ” He knows many stories are ‘just a story’ but if this one is as real as she claims it is, then he knows that wasn’t the truth. “ It never vanished from our sky! “
A tense groan, edged with exasperation, huffed past her lips. ❝ Yes. It was. I hope you know that there’s more than one moon to go around. Obviously ours moons are different. ❞ As if he knew any better; Glim knew her facts, but it was something about how smugly he spoke . . . with that dumb, self-satisfied grin that threw her into defense.
the first pal of many. tag dump ! ~
A sharp nod. ❝ Uh — yes it was. ❞ Who was he kidding ? The Sun and Moon “NOT” stolen ? He wasn’t even there !
