here are some lessons i’ve learned working in an octopus cognition lab.

being a therian with a social theriotype that also happens to be extinct is not for the weak, where on fucking earth is my pack, does anyone even know what a Florida Black Wolf is
As a velociraptor paleotherian seeing art of non feathered raptors just feels wrong and I wish people would stop doing it. It's 2025. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that they have feathers.

If you ask me, The Sun actually looks great for its age.
honestly sometimes you gotta hand it to humans. they were kinda on to something when they invented stuff like language and books and sweet treats. mostly the sweet treats though.
honestly debating some sort of dromaeosaurid identity as well.. i feel the most connected to therizinosaurs, don't get me wrong; but nine times out of ten my shifts tend to lean towards something smaller, more feathered, and much much more social (i.e. a lot more eager to bother my partner for affection, among other things, lol) makes me have somewhat of a parrot's demeanor but not with the proper wings nor beak to match. it is strange to me though as i'm still as averse to meat as ever when shifted. world's first vegetarian dromaeosaurid just dropped?
nevermind! very hard confirm on stenonychosaurus 🎉 just a very picky one if i had to guess. incredibly funny to drop therizinosaur like that so shortly after creating this account in the first place but i am astonishingly certain on this lol

Someone, please let me know if this take is bad or flawed. I'd love to learn more.
Something that bothers me a tad is how some otherkin or therians will post photos of their kintype or theriotype, but it's clear the theriforms depicted are in some sort of distress or are uncomfortable. Like no, that canid isn't "being silly." It's scared and feels threatened!
This isn't directed at all, but I have noticed some images of theriforms that just don't look comfortable to describe emotions or feelings. I see it, especially with canids. I think as a result of anthropomorphization. I sorta wish it weren't so common in the nonhuman community.
Be mindful about your theriform counterparts, nonhumans!! While we are kin to them, we still should hold ourselves accountable for misusing animalistic body language in a way humans perceive them (i.e. a wild canine in captivity showing very frightful and submissive behavior, but using the video or image as a way to joke about a minor issue).
