Over The Garden Wall is Underrated
Over the Garden Wall is a masterpiece cartoon show, recieving a 9.2/10 in IMDb and 4/5 on Hulu and yet so underrated. While many people are talking modern shows like Star vs The Forces of Evil, Steven Universe, OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes, Duck Tales, Adventure Time, and so forth or even talk about older shows that are done like Avatar the Last Airbender, Teen Titans, etc.
What makes this show so great is it unique. Instead of being loud and hyperactive like most shows, it’s quite and calming and there’s no anime, pop culture reference like anime, other media show nor video game reference like most modern shows are doing
and unlike other shows having vibrate colors, this show mostly use dark colors and autumn colors
The plot of this show is Greg and Wirt get lost in this strange forest called “the Unknown” the only way to find their way home is going deep to the unknown with help by Beatrice the blue bird and the wise Woodsman. It slow at first but to get to the know the characters more
With every episode, it start off by slow and warm heart
and then it start it shows some dark imaginary
The antagonist of the show is called “The Beast”. He isn’t like any other villain that wants to destroy the world for giggles, or wants to rule the world, he just want to deceiver,people making them into a tree of oil for his lantern to live. Also his design is one most terrifying like oh my god
Characters are very likable in the show like Greg still in his innocence and he was perform by actual young boy
The soundtrack of the show is more relaxing than most shows. Instead of being upbeat and makes you want to dance, this show is more calm and it’s very charming to listen like this show song
and what makes this show so great compare to the rest that knows how it ends
Unlike most cartoon shows where they either ended so rushed, leaving them unsatisfying
It surprising that Cartoon Network pick this show for being different than the rest.
In conclusion, Over the Garden Wall deserve more praise for it story and characters, being one of the unique shows that doesn’t follow cartoon trends.
