The man was shining on Strat, like the goddamn sun, with a jawline he could cut his teeth on. Damn, for a second, he forgot why he wasn’t listening.
Alrigh’, Alrigh’. Strat was caught. He could own up, feeling a tinge of guilt when blondie looked at him with so much intent. God, he wished he could get excited about something like plants. He couldn’t help it, though, he laughed. The look on his face— too much, even for his guilt to take seriously. "Ya know," he said, waving a finger. "It’s boy scouts like you that keep this place runnin’. You let me know when those Osiers get dangerous for humans, and tell me about that, eh?"
He untangled his long legs to put boots flat on the ground poignantly, deciding to go to the fridge to keep from decomposing too much. If he waited around too long, he was getting bitchy. Right next to the frozen fungi and Striptus Heads, surely there was something to drink. He pulled out a bottle of something green, like tea. He shook it at Kirk. "Hey, can I drink this?" It had Sam’s name on it, surely this was a snack or something.
Well if he wasn't gonna be paying attention he might as well talk to the damn plant instead, Sam decided as Strathmore stood up, although not without stealing a glance at his damn legs. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Wait!"
He whirled on his spot, widening his eyes-- oh. It was just that damn drink Aurelan had bribed him into trying. If he was honest, he would have preferred to drink unknown samples instead, but hey, it was 'for your health' apparently. "Okay, yeah, it's safe to drink, I think. But why would you that when instead..."
He patted his hands on the table, before he scurried away to the other side of the lab. Underneath one of the tables, there was a small drawer, although big enough to hold inside about six bottles of beer and a couple of cans.
"Ah-ha," he held his hands out, wriggled his fingers and pointed at his small hidden treasure. "See? And here ya probably thought us Science folks were boring, or some shit. Nah. Out of everyone in this ship, we're probably the ones with the best equipment. And we're also safe too."
Maybe Engineering beat them at it. But he digressed.
"You can't tell anyone though. And if you do, no one must know I was working. Might get me in trouble with Jimmy."
