My name is Najah, and I am a mother of six children, including newborn twins š¶š¶ who need urgent care every single moment.
We are living through extremely difficult days filled with fear, hunger, and the lack of basic necessities š„ŗš
Sometimes my children go to sleep without enough food, and I stand helpless before their tears because I cannot provide milk, diapers, or medicine for them.
My newborn twins are still so fragile, and their tiny bodies need constant nutrition and care š¼š
But our situation has become far beyond my ability to handle, while my other children face hunger, cold, and fear every day.
For many days, we have not received any donations or help, and our situation keeps getting worse with every passing hour.
I try to stay strong for my children, but my heart breaks every night when I see them suffering and I have nothing to protect them with.

I watched the Masters of the Universe movie and it was actually really fun (YOU SHOULD GO WATCH IT). And so, I redrew a sketch I made of Envy (my oc) and Skeletor from back in 2020 bc Idk, crackship? Theyāre both magic skeleton people and I thought it would be funny to pair them up together at the time. Anyway, I had a lot of fun remaking this! I got SUPER into Fallout during my semester and Iād been wanting to talk and draw more about all the stuff I came up with but I was busy with filmmaking šš. In any case, this is my Couriersona Viv and Iām very proud of her. Sheās a gunslinger-type build and kind of my love letter to Southern California - Nevada, childhood memories of visiting Vegas and westerns all wrapped into one. In actuality, sheās also a part of an AU I have with another character I made for Fallout heheheh. As for her stats, they arenāt all comprehensive. I just wanted to lay out the basics for how to build her character in New Vegas. When it comes to specifics perks or which stats to level up at certain levels, it can depend and vary from person to person. In any case, I hope you guys like her and I DEFINITELY want to share more about her soon!

I have a family friend who worked at our local Salvation Army headquarters as a a secretary. This particular office took all the Christmas donations for children in need, put them in a warehouse, and on a designated day the staff and their friends picked through them all, taking whatever they wanted. She saw people hauling away bikes donated for specific families. Some local children had hundreds of dollars of gifts donated in their name, and on Christmas they received three cheap things, items likely not even from the person who sponsored them.
My friend quit, and Iāve not given them a dime of my money since then.
Iām a wildfire and disaster logistics specialist.
I deal with a lot of agencies who provide disaster relief.
I used to say the Salvation Armyās disaster services were the one (literally the ONE) good thing they did.
They would come in, set up a canteen trailer, make and pass out hot coffee and donated food in a disaster, usually being one of the first agencies to get there and the last to leave.
Then I found out.
Every time they did this, regardless of if they were actually invited or deployed by the agency in charge (usually FEMA, sometimes others) they would SELF-DEPLOY. Meanjng they would just show up. Ok. Thatās not TOO bad, sometimes agencies have to take initiative and get there before the red tape is sorted out. BUT. They, after they left at the end of the incident, they would send FEMA or the host agency a BILL. They used one or two paid employees (usually the driver of the truck and a supervisor); and many VOLUNTEERS, but they would bill for EVERYONEās Labor at standard federal rates. They would bill for the food they distributed even though it was all donated by another agency or private parties. They would bill for the coffee they made and the supplies. Except they would use electricity from the shelter location, water from donations or from the shelter, and in many cases, they would get the coffee and industrial filters DONATED, but bill for them at retail prices.
The Salvation Army is also ass to the workers. A good number of people join it, naively thinking that itās doing good, and end up leaving cynical and beaten down. The management is hostile, if not outright abusive, and demand some ridiculous hours of it lower to mid-level staff. Donāt support these people.
Also just for even more horrific context on the original twitter thread?
Salvation Army reached out to Milknmuffins and asked what shelter sheās at with the promise to address the abuse in it. Sheā¦ended up saying where she was. She was thrown out onto the street. Itās also all on Twitter.
They invited her to a personal talk so she could explain the situation in person.

Their bones are collected into this giant skeleton creature which is filled with intense anger and a thirst for human blood. He wanders around at night, grinding his teeth and making a āgachi gachiā sound. The giant skeleton towers so high above the ground and walks so quietly that he can be almost invisible. The only warning you get when the giant skeleton is near is a strange and inexplicable ringing in your ears.

They donāt want stuff like this to happen.
They want to give NASAās budget to the already bloated military.
As far as Iām concerned, itās fine to celebrate a massive peaceful scientific achievement thatās a collaboration between the US and Canada space programs during a time when thereās so much bad news elsewhere.
I personally hope that this encourages a lot of kids to grow up and defend our space agencies.
Since I reblogged a critical post earlier, here's the nuance:
The Artemis II mission has been in planning for like, over a decade. There were preliminary reviews in 2011. It got retooled into what it is today back in 2017/18.
It managed to prevail despite massive budget cuts to NASA. The Lunar Gateway was scrapped like 2 weeks ago (it was kinda controversial to begin with although I personally think it would've been a good thing).
It's also the furthest humans have ever been from earth. It's a huge achievement built on decades of science and human curiosity.
That being said, it is being instrumentalized to bolster usamerica at a rather perilous time. This display, although coincidentally happening this way and right now, presents a science-driven country with the goal to unite humanity. In reality, usamerica is doing the exact opposite, but this is a nice opportunity to distract from that. I suppose we could call it spacewashing?
It's also a display of power and resources, although that applies to all space missions from all countries.
And that's the core thing: Space missions are political. They always have been. Usamerica didn't land a man on the moon for the scientific benefit. They did it because they were losing the space race. The entire space race was driven (and funded) not by natural curiosity, but by needing to show up those dirty commies during the cold war.
And yeah, it totally worked. The moon landing is basically patriotic inspiration porn these days.
BUT that doesn't take away from the frankly unparalleled advances humanity made during that time. The things we learned and developed are incredibly valuable to this day. Even if the people in power only cared about the optics, the scientists working on it were genuinely passionate and curious (I mean I can't speak for the Operation Paperclip guys, but they weren't the only ones working on it and generally you don't become a scientist if you don't like science).
Can you even imagine how much effort it took to develop code for the moon landing in a time where computers didnt have screens?
Behind every big project with ulterior motives is a team of genuinely passionate, hard working people in it for the real progress.
Don't let their achievements get buried.
TLDR: usamerica bad, science good. celebrate science, reject usamerica. you can do both.
