Okay but can you imagine how frustrating being a wizard in dnd would be. Like. You spend so long, maybe even years, studying magic, reading books and working hard be well versed in magic and end up really smart.

Then you meet the other spellcasters and they’re just like

Cleric: I believe in God so I’m magic.

Warlock: I just had to ask cthulu for magic and they said yes.

Sorcerers: I was born with magic.

Druid: I just chilled in the forest and got magic.

Bard: I play the fiddle lmao

The stable guys are getting more and more done with my shit and I’m getting more and more done with theirs too. What kind of weak operation are they running here where they won’t stable my horse just because it’s a god or because it doesn’t have ~skin~

so in philosopher’s stone, quirrell does actually address voldy as ‘lord voldemort’ not ‘the dark lord’, making him the only follower of voldemort shown to do so iirc. i know the reason for this is most likely just that it was the first book and jkr hadn’t ironed out all the details yet, but i like the idea that living with him on the back of your head for a year or so gets you first-name privileges
