* moves like

@epxava
there was little chance that sejun would skip the first party of the new year, leaving him to empty enough glasses to relax the tension in the shoulder and begin to bounce from one distraction to another. once or twice pausing to shove at an annoying hufflepuff or let a comment slip from the corner of his mouth about a gryffindor. typical behaviour that disappeared the more he had fun.
he’d been flirting with a cute boy on the dance floor when the other had gone to get a drink, leaving the sixth year alone on the dance floor to move with the music. natural and instinct movements, following the beat and even ignoring any feeling of someones eyes on him.
there was nearly always someone staring, and this might have been the only time he didn’t quite mind the attention. eyes slipping open after a moment, glancing around the room of requirement, over the other people partying and noticing a girl who seemed almost glued into place. the palpitations of his heart were warming his skin.
sejun didn’t know what compelled him, or what impulse he was running on, but he was soon stretching a hand out and moving over towards her. no self-restraint. no hesitation. instead he was smiling, dimples pinched in his cheeks and tugging at her wrist. “come on, watching is no fun,” he drawls, trying to inch steps back and draw her along with him.
he couldn’t remember her; not even a name. all he knew was he wanted to dance and she radiated with fulfilment. she wanted to dance, he knew it; in his drunken and inebriated state, he was so certain of it.
it’s easy to let loose with a bit of alcohol in her system. the music is good and she finds herself starting to grove along but she catches herself and continues to stay in the fringes of the makeshift dance floor. for someone like ava, the fact that she has stayed this long in a party is already a feat in itself so she really isn’t looking to do more than her usual share of social interaction.
but her initial plans of normalcy are foiled when she gets unceremoniously pulled to the middle of the dance floor. the people are honestly too drunk and too busy dancing to care about her arrival but ava still feels extremely self-conscious especially given the fact that she has no idea who her partner is; he looks familiar but she supposes everyone becomes a familiar face six years into hogwarts.
“i--...” she gapes at him helplessly but ends up looking quite stupid standing still amongst the hyped up crowd. her most favorite song begins playing and she throws caution to the wind - she’s been wanting to dance all night so why pass up this opportunity now? squaring her shoulders determinedly, she lets out a breath to relax and lets the rhythm take over, losing herself to the music.
