The MLQC story is getting really really interesting and I can't stress enough how much it's going to get more exciting after watching the Chinese pv. Who btw are way ahead of us. So those of you that have given up on playing the game trust me your missing out. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠☯⁠෴⁠☯⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Yes definitely I strongly recommend it!! Watch the all the PVs and the ones on from the Chinese server too. I'm sure you'll feel like coming back to play. Also some of the new karma cards that are coming is simply 😚🤌.

No more voices for ENG MLQC?! That's so sad :( Why?!!!

There will still be voice overs for some (main story line calls, non free SSR karmas, birthday karmas, Right Beside You content that is 4 years late) content. Just not all of the content we are used to being voiced.

They haven’t given an explicit reason as to why (I have checked Twitter, Facebook and Discord), and I highly doubt we will get an official reason as to why. I personally would not at all be surprised if it comes down to unfair pay for the VAs, as VAs on average are paid unfairly compared to all other actors.

I’m sorry I can’t give more answer, as right now these are all the answers I have, from the sources I can find about it.

You mean that the VA's went on strike or quit? (Somebody else said it is because of the tensions between China and the USA)

I don’t think they quit but more like are doing bare minimum of their job while getting ready to strike as I have seen rumblings of another VA strike. Tensions between the two countries is a very valid reason too.

Forgive me for being callous but why couldn't they replace them with a new set like the last time?

Many possible reasons. Top two that come to mind:

1) The contract they have with said VAs. It may have a clause about replacement before X amount of time has passed. In which case they may have to pay out more than it is worth (according to PG) to let them go vs keeping them.

2) VAs could be watching and know that PG is not a company they want to work for, there for they are not getting VAs putting in resumes or even looking at proposals from them.

You are very in the know. Thanks for your insights! The thing I am sad about most is dropping the voices for the main story line (except the voice calls) because that is a huge draw for me :(

Very welcome! I know a lot about some pretty niche topics and this is one of them.

That is one of the main reasons I kept playing the game as English otome games are basically non existent or very poorly done. MLQC was (and is for the voiced parts) a rarity for being not only in English but well done for being an otome game in English.

The thing about them being non existent is weird because it is a whole market ripe for the picking! (I hope the voices will come back sometime in the future though...)

I don’t think they will as the discord got an update and said that according to the Facebook post (I haven’t seen if there was an update on the original) that these changes are to sustain the game as long as possible ie: they are at this point losing more money than they are gaining. Which likely goes back to the firing of Victor’s second VA, and the others walking out then the firing of Shaw and Lucien’s original VAs.

All and all it comes down to bad business practices and the majority of fans refusing to stay after a major fuck up on their part.

What do you think of the chances of them adding ghe CN dub?

I hope they do as it will give a reason for people to possibly stick around and play, as well as possibly attract new people to play.

If they begin to make the money again they did in from 2018-2021 yes, I believe they will.

The problem is: PG is bleeding money and they aren’t stopping because they have shot themselves in the foot.

The last ad I saw for MLQC was late 2021 on Facebook just before they fired Victor’s second VA and the whole mess started.

As for if they voice it using AI: If they do, they will likely be shooting themselves in the heart at that point. A lot of people are anti AI in art and for a very good reason. It can’t replicate the human element.

A computer can not replicate emotions. I’ve heard some AI replications done for music I like or even my favourite MCU characters. The voice is flat and monotoned. Does it sound exactly like the artist or actor? Yes, but it doesn’t have the emotion behind it.

There is a huge difference and it is very noticeable.

Is there anything we can do to help promote the game so more people play.
