Thereās Magic in a Song
Hereās a sneak peak of my piece for the @erasermiczine! I was super excited with how it turned out and happy to have worked with so many talented individuals - including @havoc563, whose absolutely stunning illustration will be alongside my story.
And now, the first snippet of āThereās Magic in a Songā, my fantasy/D&D-inspired Erasermic AU. If you love the good boys like we do, and want to finish reading my piece, consider buying a copy of the zine and supporting us! Pre-orders are up, so get yours today!
Aizawa clutched at his side, wondered if applying pressure to the wound mattered much with the blood soaking through, spilling between his fingers.
Iām not even close, he mused, tilting his chin up just enough to see the world in front of him through lidded eyes. Slivers of sunlight speckled the ground, slipping through the dense forest canopy like a waypoint, guiding him back to his camp. His vision blurred as a sharp wave of pain shot up his side, twisting otherwise idyllic scenery in on itself, crafting unearthly shapes like glowering shadows out of trees and a startled adult stag.
Aizawa paused in his trek, squeezing his eyes shut and willing the dizziness to pass. When he reopened them, trees looked a bit more like trees, the frightened stag had darted away. He took a deep breath, mustering what remained of his strength, his resilience, and pushed himself forward.
Instead of cooperating, his boots caught on winding roots, pitching him to the ground, directly on his right side.
Aizawa yelped, the pain of the impact on his injury temporarily blinding him. Or maybe that was the blood running down his temple, pooling on his eyelids.
Gasping, Aizawa struggled to prop himself up, to in the very least shift onto his back, his stomach. Heād crawl the rest of the way if he had the energy.
No such luck. His body wouldnāt respond, a twinge of pain in his ankle suggesting the fall had damaged that as well.
