Though there are a lot of exciting things about Foxâs newest Live Theatre offering (mostly Aaron Tveit as Danny Zuko), Iâm a little bit troubled about something that I just read in the newest promo article - âBroadway writers Robert Cary and Jonathan Tolins will write the script.â (The Wrap, http://www.thewrap.com/grease-live-first-teaser-sees-julianne-hough-vanessa-hudgens-doing-the-hand-jive-video/ )
Grease has already been written. It has a script. In fact, it has two scripts, as the original Broadway script was heavily revised for the film and most modern-day productions are an unfortunate hybrid of the two. Why does there need to be a new script? What is the point of bring Live Theatre to people who may not normally be able to experience it if we arenât giving the audience an authentic product?
