“That’s smart.” He hums, fiddling with the radio as he drove. He didn’t know what kind of music Mic listened to so he went with a station that played light and poppy sounding music. 

“I always have snacks on me too. My hero costume has a vest with pockets, and I fill them with food.”

Eri did her best to pat her legs to the beat of the song that eventually came on as she watched the scenery past by.

“ And you have a LOT of pockets Tamaki-san. That’s a lot of snacks.” She replied.

“ Can we?” She asked, trying to contain her excitement but also a little bit of nerves. But she took her queues from her guardian, he seem happy to see the cat so she didn’t see much reason to be scared of the cat.

She’d let Aizawa take the lead on approaching the cat, while she had been around cats before and quite enjoyed petting them whenever they decided to boss her around for them. Pushing their heads under her hand until she’d catch on. She was just wary of this new one.

“Of course.”

How could he deny her the simple joy of petting a cat? It was one of the best things life had to offer in his view. Still holding Eri’s hand, he slowly approached the cat who seemed to not give them more than a glance. 

“Here kitty,” he said softly, placing his fingers near their nose for a sniff. “Would you like some pets?” Holding their attention, he smiled and motioned for Eri to come closer. 

“Here, sweetie,” he said. “They’re just a lazy kitty. Come give them some pets.”

She mirrored Aizawa’s movements concerning the cat, holding her hand out for the cat to sniff, smiling a little as she felt its nose bump against her

She went to pet the cat on its back, gently running her hands over its soft fur, albeit a bit robotically at first but the cat didn’t seem to mind that and allowed her to pet them. Eri began to relax bit by bit the longer she got to pet it, moving from its back to give it a few head scratches, which it graciously leaned into.

“ Do we know who owns them Aizawa-san? It can be too good for them to stay outside all day.. What if they get too cold out here?” she questioned.

Her eyes followed the boop making her cross-eyed for a moment before she grinned again. 

“ He scares 1-A sometimes. But he doesn’t scare me!” she says before watching as he made his way around the car, fiddling with her bag.

“Good. No fear.” He mused, getting settled and starting the car. He pulled away from the school and started driving down the street in the direction of Esuha. It was going to be a bit of a drive.

“Do you like music Eri-chan? I can put on some music for you. Did you eat before running away?”

“ I love music!” The girl replied happily, coming out of her shell a bit more. “ Mic-san let me listen to a whole bunch of his cd’s after the school festival.

“ I had my dinner and I stuffed my pockets with snacks...” She confessed to Tamaki.

“Check ups—oh.” He regards her for a moment, wondering how someone could treat a child this young like they had. Kids were allowed to be scared of the doctors but they shouldn’t be for the reasons she was. 

Taking her smaller hand in his, he crouched down a little. “We’ll keep you safe then, until Aizawa-sensei changes his mind.”

“ Thank you Suneater. “ she shifted into his hero name to thank him, smiling lightly at the promise.

“ I don’t want you and Lemillion getting in trouble though. If they find out and get mad you can take me back.” She could also run again. In her past experience the first escape was usually written off as a fluke.

“Mn…” He frowned a little before it clicked. “Oh– You have a doctors appointment?” He couldn’t think of another reason why they would be taking her back there when Aizawa was in charge of her quirk care. 

Pausing, he opened the back door of his car and helped her in. He didn’t have a booster seat, but she’d be fine for the little car ride. “I get why you don’t want to go. It’s scary huh?”

“ Yeah. They said I have to have a check up ” She nodded her head at Tamaki’s guess as she climbed up into the car. She sat herself down and clicked her seatbelt into place before looking back up at Tamaki with a serious expression.

“ Check ups were never good.” She tried to explain to Tamaki.

Although he preferred the quiet to the way his class could get, Shota knew how much these visits with Eri meant to everyone. It was so nice to see her socializing and laughing like the small child she was. The walk back was a short one, but still long enough that he insisted she hold onto his hand for safety. 

As he felt the little tug, he stopped and looked to the small girl. “What is it,” he asked.

“Hm?”

He turned his head where she pointed and there the cat was. Clearly a well fed housecat. How did it get onto campus and why?

“Want to go say hi,” he asked, cracking a grin. “Seems like they’re someone’s pet, so they should be nice.”

“Alright then we’re going to hop in my car. It’ll be a lot faster and it’s less scary than the trains.” He swung their arms a little as they walked towards where he parked the car. 

“So, why’re you running away?”

She hadn’t been on a train yet, usually she was taken around by car if she had to leave the U.A campus. She had heard student complain about how busy they were so she was glad to be going in the car.

“ I... I didn’t want to go back to the hospital.” She confessed to Tamaki. “ I heard Mr Aizawa and Mr Mic talking about how I had to go in a couple days.”

Eri was in a stand off, she eyed the other with hesitation from where they sat on her usual seat at breakfast. She didn’t know what she was suppose to do, how could she move them so that she could reach her breakfast that had already been put out for her.

“ Um excuse me can you move please?” she asked, very politely too might she add. The chubby cat stared back at her, unwilling to move simply swishing it’s tail back and forth. He had been hanging around building that the teachers now lived in but this was one of her first times properly interacting with them on her own. “ Mister Sushi Sir, I need to eat my breakfast, you understand that right? You get hungry too? I can maybe give you some of my breakfast if you let me sit down.”

That seemed to placate the cat which merely shuffled over, not giving up it’s spot but allowing the girl half of the seat. The girl smiled, climbing up onto the seat. When she settled in the cat butted its head against her side and at first she thought she had disrupted the poor thing. But that idea was quickly pushed to the side when she her a purr coming from the animal. She gave them an awkward pat on the back not wanting to startle them, which Sushi greatly appreciated .

“ Okay Mister Sushi, I can give you some but I have to ask Mister Aizawa what you can eat first.”

“Just Mirio. Actually no, we’ll keep it a surprise for him. So he won’t know you’re there either. You can jump out and say boo.” He offered, holding his hand out to her. He felt a little bad for lying to her, because he would tell Aizawa that she was at least safe so the older man wouldn’t worry too much. 

“Are you okay with car rides? We live a little far away from the school.”

“ I’m fine with just Lemillion knowing and I’ll make sure to make a big boo sound! ” She nods, slipping her hand into the others. Looking up at him

“ I’m good with cars! Aizawa-san has to take me in them sometimes, so I don’t feel sick in them anymore.”

The former student tilted his head and followed behind her. “I ran away once. When I was little. I made it all the way to Mirio’s house and hid there.” He continued, wondering where she was planning to go since she was obviously running away.

“Did you want to hide at mine and Mirio’s house?”

She paused, Eri hadn’t really thought about where she would end up. Like her all her escapes her only thought was away. But where would she go from there? And how far away was away?

Tamaki’s and Mirio’s sounded good, she hadn’t gotten to see the place yet but she was definitely curious about what it was like. Maybe she could hide there until she didn’t have to go to the doctor.

“ You won’t tell anyone?” She asked.
