I was the last one up last night and couldn't sleep so I took advantage of the quiet to practice turning a thumbnail into a color key. Color Keys are rough drafts used for planning out paintings to get the colors and the pieces laid out before you dive into a larger more detailed painting. I might revisit this one in the future to finish it but for now im practicing the workflow and the process of bringing a painting to life.
This was a challenge today, I haven't been painting recently so I put a one day timer for myself with this painting. It took me on and off thoughout the day but it's finally finished. Inspired by the photo by Daniel Sessler https://unsplash.com/photos/hnw3Al47-KE
A couple material studies that I did to get back in the swing of painting again after my hiatus
I have been tinkering on this one for the last couple days when I have a few moments, its based on a wonderful photo by Taneli Lahtinen https://unsplash.com/photos/vPWlMEumuKE
My painting progress this past year. So far to go but its awesome to see how much progress I have made. Top- Late Aug 2019

My latest tinkering. It started as a sketch that I wanted to render out. With all the turmoil in the world, I would much rather be here!

Less of a painting and more of a photo bash but I wanted to share. I inherited my grandmas photo albums, I was going through her album with photos of her old artwork and wanted to put them together somehow. We didn't get much time together but painting always makes her feel close by. Love you Grandma and miss you everyday.

I have been plugging away at this one for a bit, I wanted to practice painting dense foliage and was inspired by a photo Mysterious Forest by Hung Bo-Wen Https://500px.com/photo/35075026/Mysterious-Forest-by-Hung-BoWen/

Tree study 6-2-20
I'm trying to work through an art block, here is a tree study I did today.
I really like your work from what I've seen so far. What program/programs do you use? I have been using Krita and Gimp. You have some great landscape pieces. Maybe you'd like to check out my art/youtube channel, Alissa's Couch! If not that's okay but one of your landscapes reminded me of a part of one of my animations that is on Mars and thought you might like! :) Have a good night!
Thanks for reaching out! So far I mainly use Photoshop on my Surface, although I've been itching to try something new. I will most definitely check out your Youtube, I am excited to check it out!

Here is one of my newest pieces, I've been neglecting my Tumblr account lately, but I am working on updating it now. 😜😁
