Today I came across a picture where someone was admitting to editing a picture of themselves to make a certain part of them look better but they didn't need to that anymore because they found a product that worked for their problem. My first thought was, why edit the picture in the first place?! As a mom I wouldn't want my kids to ask "what are you doing?" And tell them oh just editing this pic to make my wrinkles go away or whatever you are unhappy about, I want my kids to know that imperfection is just as beautiful as perfection. It goes beyond just my influence as a mom though, I want to be ok with who I am and not have such a low self esteem that I am having to edit a picture to make myself look a certain way, the way the world thinks is perfect. Totally not saying you shouldn't take care of yourself or spend time getting ready just saying don't be fake. Be real with yourself and others. #steppingoffmysoapboxnow #bereal #beautyisintheeyeofthebeholder
