The voices in my head tell me stories Of blood, rage of war, the dead on death beds "Don't fill your head," they said, "with these worries"  The battlefield of gory, seeing red "Sorry, not today sir" they say with sorrow When I have asked to see my family  Forced to The Valley o' Death the morrow For family, men give their lives gladly  Shadows of the Valley o' Death greet souls I notice they see red as my head does "O' Death, you see worlds like my eyes o' old" No reply, only an embracing touch I found my bed where I shall rest my head In The Valley o' Death where souls see red
