All is grace and God knows better than I do what I need: everything He gives and everything He permits is for my good because I’m not as self sufficient or hyper-competent as I think I am, and all that happens in my day is something He either ALLOWED (like the cruxifixction) or INTENDED (like the annunciation), and thus, works toward a greater good. Prayer request tonight for a pet (4/27/17)

My father has taken our cat Eliza to the vet hospital after she appeared to be in pain and wouldn’t eat. She’s a dear thing to us. Please pray for her full recovery, and a lengthy and happy kitty life.

Update! It's kidney failure. She has medication and new food, and we're to give her a hydration injection every few days, but there's no quality of life concern. She's expected to live another 2-3 years, which at 19 is excellent. Thank all of you for your prayers. people on tumblr who say you believe in jesus, listen to me. younger christians, struggling christians, I’m thinking specially of those who have believed in God for a long time but who are just beginning to warm to politics and social justice: you gotta hear this. you can’t have jesus if you’re not fighting sin. that means you can’t have jesus and witchcraft. you can’t have jesus and your own way with your sexuality. you can’t have jesus and your hatred for those who disagree with you politically. you can’t have jesus and a fun little heresy. you can’t have jesus and your own free decision on what to do about your dysphoria. “by no means! how can those who have died to sin still live in it?” “so glorify God in your body.” following jesus is not a salad bar where you can pick which of his teachings you like and which don’t suit you. now, for those who pursue Jesus despite the sacrifice, you will gain christ, and with him, everything else, eternal reward. jesus told a story about someone who found a treasure in a field and sold everything he owned to buy that field. that looks crazy to a world that can’t see the treasure. it looks like you’re giving up everything for nothing. but if you want to gain the most beautiful glorious treasure on earth, you have to surrender everything else you hold dear to his will. if you’re struggling with same-sex attraction or dysphoria or temptation and you feel like tumblr’s worldview is the only comforting one, reach out to someone who will tell you the truth. the people of jesus need each other. talk to me, i want to help and ive been there, specifically ive struggled with dysphoria (albeit mild) and temptation with sexual purity. but this is life and death and you have to think about your beliefs before you accept whatever’s easiest. and remember, there is no more condemnation for those who are in christ jesus.

Hard truth for many, but it needs to be said and heard. Jesus would be saying the same in this society now. This is done out of love and care for souls. The truth will set you free and usually the truth comes with conviction. Which is not a bad thing. We need morals. We need standards. We need a right foundation to stand on.
