just because Levi was scared for Erwin and threatened to break his legs to avoid the Shiganshina mission when he has never shown any such fears for anyone else ever, or

because he got so angry when Erwin said no he beat up the kids, or

because he tried to get Erwin to escape using the horses or Eren, or

because he was hoping the whole time that he could save Erwin, or because he hesitated to give the serum to Armin, or

because he says he chose to save Erwin because of his personal feelings, or

because he obsesses over his promise to "only one man", or

because he keeps talking to/remembering only Erwin in his head, or

because he still evaluates Hanji's decisions as Commander by thinking "what would Erwin do?", or

because he shares the same (acker)bond with Erwin as Mikasa with Eren, or

because he keeps saying things like "I don't regret picking the boy with the same look in his eyes as you", or

because character guides say that Levi allows no one to get close to him, except Erwin whom he trusts fully, or

because Erwin trusts him in the same way right back, or

because he went back to retrieve Erwin's body himself, or

because the animation studio keeps drawing little eruri sketches, or

because they say "there is emotion between them that cannot be concluded as friendship", or

It reminds me of the text of the game in which Levi said he wanted to discover the world and see everything that Erwin could not see.

Is that why he serves as a chaperon for Gabi and Falco ? To continue to honor Erwin’s memory by living things for him ?

Post 139 Levi headcanons:

He actually rotates between which alliance members to live with because he secretly likes their company but won't admit it.

The end of titans also meant the end of the Ackermans. Levi is now regular strength, but still kicks everyone's ass the one time they put on 3DM gear for fun.

He can physically walk, but he tires easily these days. The strain on his body caught up. The others tease him for being old (aka over 40).

He didn't join the others on the boat to Paradis because he's not much for politics. The others do get him to sail over eventually since 'humanity's' strongest' does still have pull in some circles . He mostly goes to visit Erwin's grave and see if he can get Hange and the others a proper memorial.

He's worried about Mikasa too so he does manage to sneak off to have that Ackertalk. It's awkward but Levi is trying to be more emotionally open these days.

He's relieved to find out the underground doesn't exist anymore.

He doesn't wear an eye patch because "hange wore it better".

The 104s keep setting him up on blind dates without telling him. They only know he likes "tall people" but they're too afraid to ask anything more. So the dates range the whole gender and looks spectrum.

He does let one of them take him home. Its not serious or anything but its nice to wake up next to someone for once.

He goes drinking with the alliance one night and they do get him to admit "Erwin was more than just my commander". He won't elaborate and the 104s try to play it cool. In reality once Levi leaves they start to compare memories and theories. They range from secretly married, to fwb to secret half brothers. Its the half brothers theory that makes them realize they're going to be really hungover tomorrow.

He isn't sure if what he saw when the rumbling ended was the afterlife, but he keeps a detailed notebook of all his travels. He want to remember everything so he can tell Erwin and Hange when he sees those big nerds again.
