Coutume Café: Not Just Another Hipster Coffee Shop
Very well-executed williamsburgish coffee. You must try their carrot cake.
Why go: To work or just to grab a coffee after a session at Le Bon Marché / Conran Shop

Chez Graff: Warm 1950 Style Neobistrot
Warm staging though a little bit loud if you want to talk smooth with your loved one, but great felling there. Population is typical preppy 7th.
Worth mentioning: Same "team" as nearby Laiterie Sainte Clotilde (the owner, Thomas Lousteau, used to word there 2 years) / The Japanese Chef Koji Tsuchiya is a former cook at well-known Astrance

Cantina di Luca: Real Pizza without the Italian cliché style
KB Cafeshop / ex-Kooka Boora: Perfect Hipster Coffee Spot
I hate this portmanteau word (Hipster), but I have to admit it is the one that describes best the spirit. This place has every codes you could find in all the latest williamsburgish/swedish/vegan cafés in Paris: the location (South of Pigalle, Place Lino Ventura), the style (recycled wine and market cases), good baristas and even the typically - but indefinable - cool-but-pretending-not-to population. And it actually works here (couldn't say the same for many others).
Why go: Get there with your computer to work from the terrasse with a nice flat white coffee or with 2-3 friends (not more) and lay back for a while.
Worth mentioning: Located on a cute and quiet square in a "tourist-free zone" of Montmartre. Opens early

Roca: Simple & Sophisticated
This is not just another "neobistrot", as we've seen so many popping up in Paris lately. Here, the chef Alexandre Giesbert, former cook at Ferrandi and Richer, proposes elaborated cuisine with complete mastering of cooking techniques. If you like coffee you'll have to try theirs, from the Coutume Café roastery coffee house (7th, Paris).
Service isn't the quickest - for now - but staff knows its play. Anyway, there's no point in hurrying with this cozy atmosphere Roca created.

Kozy Salon Urbain: Starbucks + spirit
This place opened in September 2013. What sums it up could be "cheap Starbuck + spirit". It could also be seen as an adaptation from concepts like Slow Time Café in Germany or the Anticafé in Paris (3rd), where you pay for time spend.
Decoration uses the codes and colors you can see in some co-working spaces (white and beige, with touches of grey and red). You have free wifi and cheap - though very good - coffee and cookies. Plus, staff is super friendly.
It is the perfect place to work when you don't have the strength to work from home but can't afford to pay for an actual office (yet).
Julhes: Fauchon-sur-Saint-Denis
This place is one of several spots Julhes has. Nice selection of products well served by a staff that knows its job.

This 2013 winter, our aunties took us back to our childhood's holiday village, Locquirec. While there, we couldn't resist temptation to go see the - supposed to be - legendary Grand Hotel des Bains.
Although the scenery's great when you arrive in the garden, I must say I was kind of disappointed when I got into the hotel. Decoration looks cheap and the staff welcomed us pretty coldly.
As the restaurant was empty, our dinner table was perfect, with a view on the garden and the sea. Menu's expensive and old-fashioned but mastered. But again, staff style was quite rusty - not to say unpleasant, which in the en ruined the experience.
Not worth giving it a try, at least for dinner, really.
