Parisian Apartment Dreams Are Made Of: This Paris apartment makes the most of its elegant architectural bones with a minimalist design. While there is no clutter, neither does it feel at all cold. Scandavian Style Meets Canadian Wilderness: Architects Bohlin, Cywinski Jackson have created a stunning mountain lodge for their Nordic client in the Kicking Horse Mountain ski resort in Canada. The design could not be more sleek and modern but it integrates perfectly in the snowscape with clever use of wood and dark materials. Loft Love. So often lofts verge on the extremes of claustrophobic or cold minimalism. Designer Fleur Delesalle has the balance just right in this loft in the Marais, Paris. And there are some great quirky touches to keep it interesting too.

Party Girl, Shows Her Stylish Side: Known more for wild parties than architecture, Juma Architects, bring out a stylish side of Ibizia, Spain. Dupli Dos, with amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea was once two separate duplexes. They were brought together to be reborn as one stunning home.

Villa Chamande in Cannes, France is the definition of luxury. Poolside views across the Mediterranean, minimalist interior design, and floor to ceiling views out to sea everywhere-oh and there are six bedrooms. No wonder this area of Cannes is known as Super Cannes:)

Anna Pliss has transformed this former Moscow textile factory into an uber hip apartment. There are industrial design touches throughout, some added some original. It all comes together as a quirky, fun ensemble. (Photos Maria Turykina, via worldofarchi)

It really is hard to beat a Paris apartment for style...and this one created by Jean-Christophe Aumasis is no expception. It has the hallmark eclectic combinations that Parisians seem to throw together perfectly without it looking like the tried. An enviable skill. (photos via sharedesign)

Clingstone House looks like it should be in a romantic film of some kind centred around an eccentric family. It was designed by architect, J.S. Lovering Wharton, and is located in Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay in USA. It is almost 110 years old and has an unbelievable 10 bedrooms. It could not feel more cosy and lived in. Perfect. Casa Cubo in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was designed by Isay Weinfeld as a private gallery and guest house for two artists. The house itself is surely a work of art, most notably the beautiful staircase that hovers above the ground. There is so much superb architecture coming out of Brazil and here is yet another example. Ultra modern, ultra cool 'Black Cube House' was designed by KameleonLab in Wroclaw, Poland. The architect live up to their names, as apparently this was a white 70's building with no desirable qualities. Now it is an art piece of modern design:) (Photos via ArchDaily)

Dorrington Architects and associates had quite a challenge with this project in Auckland New Zealand. The owners did not want to re-build their brick bungalow, but they did want a totally contemporary space. Somehow the architects have pulled off the integration of the original building with zinc structures to create something new. They have also opened up the building to take in the stunning water views that were previously (criminally) hidden by poor design. (via Homes & Hues)

Looking over an iconic public swimming pool would demand an architect to design something with its own style. Edwards Moore has risen to the challenge with this apartment in Fitzroy, Melbourne Australia, that has the quaint name of 'Cubby House'. The clever use of textured materials throughout certainly give it a cubby house feel - and it works. (Photos Peter Bennetts)

When most people think of Bordeaux, they think of wine, rather than clever architecture. This project by OMA Architects re-defines this perception. Although 15 years old now, its ingenious design remains a standout. It has a central elevator platform that allows the home owner who has a disability to travel freely between the three floors, without sacrificing a beautiful interior. This house in Blasthal, Switzerland was designed by Pascal Flammer Architects. It is interesting in that it takes a very traditional simple barn like structure and deconstructs it through the use of glass where there would normally be walls. The dark exterior of the building is happily not carried through into the interior, which is light and minimalist, with views onto the surrounding countryside. The whole project could not be more Swiss - via Trendir.

Apparently Tongabezi 'Treehouse' is directly inspired by the architecture of the town of the same name on the Zambezi River in Africa. True or not, there is no denying that as far as tree houses go, this one has about all that one could possibly need-including a cocktail, as there is room service. (Via Fastcompany)
