Doing a Ted Lasso rewatch in preparation for the new season, and it's time I finally speak my truth. I hate the "Jamie quitting football to be a reality star" bit.

I know it's supposed to show how far he was willing to go to piss off his dad, but the idea of someone playing at his level, doing something he loves, throwing it all away is just so hard for me to suspend my disbelief for. It's one of those things they did that is just too silly for me to buy in. I just pretend that the whole thing never happened for the sake of my sanity.

I'm grateful it gave us that one shot of Phil Dunster semi-shirtless nonetheless.

I just don't think we're talking enough about how focusing on a women's team for the new season means we're probably getting so many more queer characters.

We are not hype enough about the lesbians! Keeley Jones would not stand for this lack of enthusiasm about girls kissing! Everyone freak out more!

(Is it fair to have some fear about how they'll handle it? Yes. I fear how they'll handle pretty much anything after some of the things they pulled last season. But by God, I'm gonna have my sapphic joy for now.)

I went into this season of Bridgerton with low expectations after season three being a bit of a mess, then proceeded to really enjoy it so far, only for everyone else to seemingly hate it. (On Twitter at least)

I feel like I must have watched a different show entirely. The couple played off each other really well, we got nice glimpses of other characters without just sidelining the main plot, and the pacing was on point. Am I losing my mind?

There is something to be said about how Sinners isn't saying to lock the door on black culture and never let anyone else in. A big part of the scene of Sammie singng at the juke joint is the fact that there are other cultures involved. The chinese characters are accepted gladly and their culture is also shown in the process of looking back and forward.

In my opinion Sinners does point to the issue that white supremacy and a lot of white people who don't think they are racist like to iron over the culture they take in. Seperate it from the context and the people who created the culture until the heart of it is basically gone.

Remmick is a racist, but he also would have likely had a chance to interact with the culture in a normal way and connect with his own if he had just accepted that he wasn't the center of Sammie's music. The need to rip away Sammie's memories, talent, and culture and assimilate it into the hoard for his own gain without caring about what that culture means for the people it came from is the issue with Remmick. It is also the issue with a lot of people who want to view and interact with black culture, but get icked out when they actually have to be faced with the centuries of struggle that led to that genre of music, or dance, or hairstyle being created.

The portrayal of white people who have been violently separated from their own culture stealing the power of black culture and music to try to get reconnected was SO literal and somehow not at ALL heavy-handed or trite. Fkn remarkable.

There is no better demonstration of how much most men don't understand about attractiveness than the number of dudes responding to this tweet with "You think Peter Dinklage is hot?"

He is charming and crazy handsome, but half these men have let Andrew Tate or whoever convince them that no one could find him attractive because he isn't six feet tall.

This tweet is 100% true! He was so hot that they basically made a kind of terrible guy into a hero! I would let him hit me with a car and say thank you, and that girl you have a crush on probably would too!
