“I’ve gotta be honest to you, I don’t, I don’t think I was ever schizophrenic, I just don’t believe it. It’s still a stage where I think back and I’m thinking, well, my mates are married, they got kids, they got jobs, and there I am still in the same position. I don’t really know what to make of it sometimes.”
In my opinion, Nikolas just felt that he must kill people. That’s all. He knew what he wanted to do, it was his goal. He even dreamt of covering himself in human blood. I’ve never been an emotional person, so I don’t believe all this bullshit that people at school abused him and didn’t like him. Did he kill 17 people because he sat in the emo gazebo at school or girl broke up with him? Maybe because his real mother was addicted to drugs, his second mother died or maybe when he was a child he lived in the upscale suburb of Parkland, but now he was thrown out of school and had a shitty job in the Dollar Tree? People from his highschool were educating, but he was still in the same position. Maybe he was nice to some people, he gave free balloons, he wished them a nice day. But he was also erratic, he was always talking about doing crazy things and he loved guns. He kept talking about it and wanted to show it to everyone at school. Roxanne Deschamp asked him “the gun or us?” Nikolas chose the first option. Notice one thing - people only paid attention to him when it was connected with the guns.
I’m glad that the internet allowed him to express his true thoughts. My only regret is that we will probably never see an interview with him.
