I was fortunate enough to be given some vintage buttons to craft with for the Etsy store.  Sorting through a jar of vintage buttons was so satisfying!  I don’t know what it is but the mix was so eclectic and of course I put the mother of pearl buttons to the side and were not part of the project.  The jar of buttons came from a jar that belonged to a cornerstone in New Brunswick - I was told that they were from at least the ‘40s-50′s at the very earliest but most likely dating a lot further back. After sorting, I rinsed the buttons with some warm water and soap and let it dry overnight.  I coated the buttons with 3 layers of paint - 2 on the front and once on the back.  Please look forward to seeing the push pins to be added to Etsy!

I got super excited when I got an envelope maker - I was only meaning to make a few just to test it out but I got carried away clearly.

I decided to go with a floral theme as I had a massive scrapbook paper pad that I haven’t used in a long time.  I think that it works well because the print is so small.  Also in contrast, larger prints also seem to work well as long as a significant portion of the print can be displayed proudly! The envelopes fit a standard sized gift card perfectly and would make awesome thank you notes.

To stop myself from plowing away at making even more, trust me the next day I made another 20 after being carried away again, i decided to take advantage of the light and take some photos.  Of course, Kimchi had to scoot over and make his presence known.  I was able to capture some of his antics.  This why I named my Etsy shop after him.  He never fails to make it to an area surrounded by paper.
