Not "psychologically demolished by Sam," not "the players have unionized", but a secret third thing: "terrorize Sam to the point he begs for the game to end"
pov: your players unionized again
Chris pine needs to get into some real pervert cinema. He has the screen energy of a guy who bleeds and sweats and drools and fucks but he’s always turning up in these plastic sexless normie movies that can’t make good use of him. What’s up with that
I'm sorry I keep posting my tiktok comments but please. What does this mean. What do people THINK shipping is for anymore???
AO3 authors in the lab creating ships purely for research purposes:
Creating ships for the tax write-off
Creating ships to get that fucking whale.
creating ships to wedge into the Suez canal and disrupt global shipping
You’re welcome 🧄
Controversial opinion maybe but you don't actually have to come out to anyone if you don't want to. No one is entitled to that information. If you want to keep your identity to yourself, whether that's for comfort or safety or just because you feel like it, then that's your decision and your decision alone.
And if this doesn't apply to you, then you can reblog without commentary or scroll on. You don't need to add a "well actually—" or an "except for—" or whatever. You do not need to tell people their feelings or try to diagnose strangers. Just move on 🤷
It actually blows me away how little compassion people have for anyone who chooses to stay closeted, even from the people closest to them. We can recognize how many people throughout history never told anyone about their identities, even their partners, for a lot of different reasons but we forget that those reasons still exist. So many queer people are living their truths in their heads and will never share that with anyone else and we will likely never know and that's fine. It's fine.
We can try to destroy the bigotry that leads people to hiding for safety, but we also have to remember that there will always be people who have no intentions of coming out to anyone regardless. There isn't a future where everyone tells everyone else everything about their identities because there will always be people who don't care enough to give themselves labels or who simply do not think it is anyone else's business.
Happy Pride Month to those two women dancing together in the foreground of the boat scene in Godzilla (1954).
I’m sorry your romantic foibles were overshadowed by a big ass atomic lizard thing.
out of the tags with you
Hanging out with people will make you remember you're the crazy woke friend for like. not wanting to shop at shien
“be gay do crime! but sex is yucky and crime is wrong!” ass website
found your monster romance book recs and was very excited until i found that they looked all pretty hetero. know of any good books for us lesbos (or other combinations of queer?) the only one I've found myself is @natalieironside 's "In The Court Of The Nameless Queen"
Hi Anon! It's taken me a while to get back to you and answer this because I needed to do some research and it took longer than I should have. (Also thank you for the rec!) There's True Love Bites by Joy Demorra (@thebibliosphere) which is a polyamorous Vampire/Werewolf romance.
Metal Heart by Michelle Frost which appears to be a Shifter fated mates M/M romance.
Spitfire by Maya Kern (@mayakern) which is about a Prince, the Dragon shifter who is bound to him, and their future Queen who are all super queer and spend a lot of time sorting out their feelings for each other. It's more polyamory, and the bits I've read have all been delightful.
Saved by an Orc by Carrie Wilde is more of a novella but it's a good W/W orc romance. (Carrie Wilde seems to have a lot of queer romance in her library, so if you enjoy this one it may be worth digging further.)
AITA? by Cassie Alexander appears to be a rather cute (but steamy?) "sapphic romcom" featuring a demon and a human finding themselves.
I wish I could find more but a lot of the stuff that comes up is either "dark" and angsty and I hesitate to rec it because I'm not sure it's even a happy ever after (a firm requirement for a book I recommend) or it's stuff that I don't know enough about to feel confident recommending it. If any of the folks who read this have more suggestions, please, please feel free to chime in and help anon out.
I’ll second “In the Court of the Nameless Queen” as well as “Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites” and add a couple from my library:
“Our Bloody Pearl” by D.N. Bryn is a romance between a monster mermaid (non-binary siren, to be precise) and the ace pirate who rescued them from captivity under a much less friendly pirate. Hurt/Comfort and learning to trust in kindness abounds. Some nice action and worldbuilding.
“Beast Charming” by Jennifer Wardell is a fairy-tale retelling in a world where Fairy Godmothers are incorporated, dragons sometimes run temp agencies. Beauty is on assignment from the agency, and wants it made clear that she is NOT available for fairy-tale endings, and the Beast has no interest in his curse being broken thank-you-very-much. It’s fun, with snappy dialogue.
“Bonnie and the Beast” by Alexa Black is another retelling of Beauty and the Beast, this time a steamy W/W romance novella. The setting is “a long time ago in the future”, but it plays a lot closer to the source story than the previous one. Except for y’know, the monster sex.
“The Queen of Ieflaria” by Effie Calvin veers away from the brief here slightly; it’s not pure monster romance. Instead we have romance AROUND monsters, an arranged marriage between two countries, one being invaded by dragons, and the other having magic capable of defeating dragons. But Oh No! The heir died unexpectedly, and now his delinquent sister has to woo the mage princess to secure the alliance and save her country. How will the rough and tumble Adale manage to impress the elegant and reserved Esofi? And will she be able to escape the memory of her perfect brother’s shadow and become the leader her country needs? Oh yeah, and DRAGONS?!
If it wasn’t obvious, I absolutely love that last one, and all the other books in the “Tales of Inthya” series. Later books have more monster romance, with shapeshifters, gods and other supernatural entities. They’re still pretty much all W/W though.
FLY is a story about a boy who gets a second chance. Help his story take flight June 9th 11am EST on Kickstarter. Thank you for being the wind beneath my wings I hope this story lifts the world to a brighter place.
A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
next time you’re at the thrift store and find a nice solid thick pile area rug for a shockingly good price and you’ve been looking for an area rug for the office forever and the color goes really nicely with the office color scheme and you think this is it, this is what i’ve been waiting for, stop, and ask yourself: did i take the bus here?
next time you’re on the bus and see someone with an area rug and a look of deep disappointment in themself mind your own business
In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesn’t
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
#I'm fucking crying#this is an instant classic#this is the next meme#i can't believe I'm here to see a baby copypasta nary two hours old#I can't#lol#i laughed way too hard#iconic
yeah yeah rainbow capitalism is bad and whatever but like. when I was a child, being pro gay was not the popular or lucrative choice. I'm happy that times have changed.
I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.
Nothing is off topic when it comes to us, happy pride month, my fellow asexuals 💜
Am I the only person who thought this was really fucking funny
A lot of the really funny moments in Lord of the Rings come from Tolkien playing with language like this, where we have relatively formal, archaic, “high” language responded to with informal, modern, “low” language.
another hilarious example:
my absolute favorite example of tolkien switching registers in this way is
