i was listening to dopethrone and i was like goddddammmmmn that wizard is electric so i went and looked up how they got it so electric. the whole album's in b standard (that is, every string is tuned down 5 frets) so im like okay let's do that :) BUTTTTT i have a 7 string so I now bottom out at f# and the amp doesnt know how to deal with it. had to use a bass amp cabinet sim just to get those frequencies audible. might drop that string down to e and have it a full octave lower than normal. sounds like absolute filth

#running it through a rat pedal and a jcm800 simulator too #pitch shifted the final signal so half of it is slightly detuned from the other and those are panned apart #sounds like getting hit by a train

i want to write an essay about author intent when it comes to trans characters - particularly about how an author can say a character is totally a guy but it's very apparent that theyre saying that for transphobic reasons - and whether or not author intent matters in deeming a character transgender. itll probably reach into the realms of whether canonicity is more impactful than fan consensus if at all, the differences between subtextual analysis-based headcanons and baseless vibes headcanons (and whether or not there's an important distinction between the two), and what meaning trans representation holds, particularly good vs bad trans rep.

needless to say im a fan of homestuck, deltarune, and danganronpa (to an extent), so i have ample experience when it comes to queer/trans headcanons, dubious canonicity, wiki pronoun wars et cetera. i doubt ill actually get very far on writing this but i know theres a good amount to be said here.

the two things i want to do before i finish writing, is 1) get a particularly firm grip on dialectics, and 2) watch tadc. i think both will be indispensable in actually landing on a good conclusion wrt all this
