My surgery is 10 days away
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Fenyx Alexandria Love. I’m 26 years old and I was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I came to New York almost 3 years ago to focus on my medical transition. Where I was raised I would never have had the privilege to access the gender affirming surgeries that I need to live a comfortable, powerful & beautiful life in my own skin. I’m making this gofundme so that I can begin to take the next step in my transition. My Facial Feminisation Surgery (FFS) is scheduled for October 12 and I’m beyond excited & emotional. This surgery will give me a chance to see myself and see the reflection that I have been begging to see since I was a little girl. It will take a huge weight off my chest, bringing me one step closer to feeling comfortable in the body that I possess. Sadly, I’ve struggled a lot over the last few months. I don’t have family support. I’m in a position where I can’t take care of myself completely. I haven’t been eating healthy meals and am not currently in a financial position to undergo this procedure with ease. I’m asking for your help to raise $5000 which will enable me to cover my rent, food, bills & medical supplies over the two months that I’m healing. The recovery from this surgery will be a difficult process. I’ll be out of work for at least 6-8 weeks. With these funds I also hope to be able to move into a safer and more stable living environment as my current housing situation has been extremely insecure. Right now more than ever I need a calm and conflict free space where I can rest and heal with as little stress as possible. Please consider donating or sharing if you can. I’m so grateful to each and every member of my community for the love and support you have shown me. I love you all so much. x Fenyx
Choctaw
Horatio Bardwell Cushman wrote in his 1899 book “History of the Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Natchez Indians”: “The tradition of the Choctaws … told of a race of giants that once inhabited the now State of Tennessee, and with whom their ancestors fought when they arrived in Mississippi in their migration from the west. … Their tradition states the Nahullo (race of giants) was of wonderful stature.
Cushman said “Nahullo” came to be used to describe all white people, but it originally referred specifically to a giant white race with whom the Choctaw came into contact when they first crossed the Mississippi River. The Nahullo were said to be cannibals whom the Choctaw killed whenever the opportunity arose.
