Awesome blog,Etan's story has been near my heart for a few years now...I hope we get some closure soon.Even if,for his loved ones there'll never be any closure.
Thank you for following. Kindly share to others. Yep, hoping for some closure too.
Today, October 9, 2014 is Etan Kalil Patz's 43rd birthday, if he is (and hopefully he is) alive.
To everyone who does not know who he is yet, he is a 6-year old New York boy who disappeared on his way to the school bus stop, only two blocks away from their SoHo apartment on May 25, 1979. This year, 35 years after he went missing without a trace, no definite clue has been established and no body has been found.
Etan, wherever you are right now, I want to wish you a very Happy birthday. I am really sad that we cannot celebrate it with you. I have been in grief for the past two years since I knew about you, but I know this is no match against the 35 years your parents and siblings have endured without any clue about what happened to you.
I can only promise you one thing, you will always remain in their and in my heart. I have just received the book about you a week ago, and I am proud to say this is my most valuable possession as of now, more than my life itself. I am looking forward to the day when I can finally meet you, wherever and whenever that might be. I love you all the way to the end of the universe, and back.
Again, Happy Birthday!
Happy should-have-been 12th birthday to Leiby Kletzky! We miss you extensively. Still, Happy Birthday.
Yesterday, July 27, 2014, was the 33rd death anniversary of Adam Walsh. You had always been, and will always be, loved and remembered.
Tomorrow, July 13, 2014 is the third year after Yehudah "Leiby" Kletzky's dismembered body was found. :(
On July 11, 2011, Leiby Kletzky, a Hasidic Jewish boy, was kidnapped as he walked home from his school day camp in the mainly Hasidic neighborhood of Boro Park, Brooklyn in New York City, New York. His dismembered body was found in the Kensington apartment of confessed murderer Levi Aron, aged 35, and in a dumpster in another Brooklyn neighborhood, Greenwood Heights, on Wednesday morning July 13.
Kletzky's disappearance sparked an all-out search by New York City police and a block-by-block search by up to 5,000 Orthodox Jewish volunteers from New York and other states coordinated by the Brooklyn South Shomrim volunteer civilian patrol. – July 12, 2011, Aron was apprehended early Wednesday morning after examination of videos from surveillance cameras along the boy's route showed him meeting a man outside a dentist's office and then apparently getting into his car. Aron gave a 450-word handwritten confession to police after his arrest, but pleaded not guilty at his first court hearing. The kidnapping and murder of the eight-year-old boy shocked the insular Brooklyn Hasidic community, whose streets are considered relatively safe. The case has drawn comparisons to the 1979 kidnapping and murder of Etan Patz, a six-year-old SoHo resident who was snatched while walking to his school bus for the first time.
Before the case went to trial, on August 9, 2012 Aron pleaded guilty to one charge of second-degree murder and one charge of second-degree kidnapping as part of a plea bargain agreement worked out between prosecutors and defense attorneys. On August 29, Judge Neil Firetog sentenced Aron to 40 years to life in prison. Aron would be eligible for parole in 2051, which includes credit for time served.
It has been a year since Terry Dewayne Smith Jr's body has been found partially buried in a shallow grave in their backyard. Still grieving.
PLEASE HELP US FIND HIM.
It has been 1 year since Terry Smith Jr. went missing. His body was found just at their backyard 4 days after, which was last July 10, 2014. Very sad about this case since his own brother, who called him "retard" was charged for the murder. You will always be remembered Terry Dewayne.
MISSING NATHAN O'BRIEN
A massive search by Calgary police and RCMP is underway on a rural property near Airdrie as police investigate the disappearance of Nathan O'Brien and his grandparents, who were reported missing Monday. Police say a vehicle was found on the scene that was similar to the description of the green Ford F150 that was seen driving around the family's Parkhill neighborhood several times on the night the three disappeared. A man from the residence near Airdrie has been taken in for questioning, but police say it is too early to determine if that man, the vehicle or the property currently being searched are linked to the case. On Friday evening, police received a tip from the public that led them to the property, located just on the northeast outskirts of Airdrie. Officers are expected to remain at the property for the next 24 to 36 hours as they search for evidence in the high-profile missing people’s investigation, which has captured international attention. "If this lead turns out to be something we're very interested in, we want to make sure we cover every avenue; we want to cover off that ground as quickly as we can," duty inspector Joel Matthews said. Police don't know whether they are any closer to finding the three missing family members or whether they are still alive, Matthews said.
While combing through the acreage near Airdrie, officers hope to find “anything that will help us solve this file and help us find the family,” he said.
The man in custody is a “person of interest” officers hope will offer new information into the case.
More than10 police vehicles, including an RCMP special tactical operations truck, had been parked outside the rural acreage near Airdrie earlier Saturday, though several vehicles left later in the afternoon.
Corissa Boychuk, who lives nearby, said she saw police officers outside the same rural property Saturday at midnight and again at 11 a.m. She said the scene was unusual for the rural area, which offers panoramic views of farmland.
“I’ve never seen anything like this in Airdrie, let alone out in the country outside Airdrie,” Boychuk said.
Officers separately ended a ground search for the three family members and clues about their disappearance, just hours after launching it in the area surrounding the Likneses’ home in southwest Calgary. Matthews said the search was complete.
More than30 search and rescue crews and over 20 police officers had been expected to search an area bounded roughly by 42 Avenue S.W., Macleod Trail, Mission Road and the Elbow River. Police said it's a best practice to return to the scene of an abduction five to seven days afterward, with research suggesting fresh searches have proven to be helpful in finding missing persons.
Before the search ended, police said crews were going to comb through yards, green spaces and ask to inspect about 300 homes in the area throughout Saturday and possibly into Sunday.
Police say the Amber Alert remains in effect and the appeal for any information relating to the disappearance of the family members or the location of the green F150continues.
Nathan was last seen by his mother when she dropped him off at his grandparents' home Sunday night. Police believe Nathan and the Likneses had been taken from the home against their will by Monday morning.
Investigators said a violent struggle took place inside the Likneses' Parkhill home before they vanished along with Nathan. Officers suspect at least one of them has been injured - they are still waiting for forensic testing to find out who was hurt.
Please share.
Today is #National Missing Children's Day. 35 years since dear Etan Kalil Patz went missing. Till now, no answers.
Happy birthday Dylan! 15 years it is. Remember you are always loved!
Happy 39th birthday to one of the pillars of Project Etan, Adam John Walsh. We hope that wherever you are, you are happy and resting in harmony. Do not worry, we will find your body no matter what happens. We love you, Adam!
Too good that he survived. We are very happy for this boy! We do not blame anyone, but we just want to remind everyone, especially parents, to exert more effort for your children's security in activities like this.
Here in the Philippines, it is already #LeibyKletzky's 11th birthday. 12 more hours before it is in the US. Happy happy 11th birthday Leiby. Though you're no longer with us, we know you are watching over your family. We miss you so much Leiby. Enjoy your birthday in the sky, dear!
