As promised, I’ll be hosting the Suptober Art Challenge on Tumblr again this year, and just like last year, this challenge will start on October 1st and run through October 31st (just like Inktober). Unlike last year, art round-ups will be done once a week rather than daily. This is because it will be a little easier on me and a little nicer to see all the submitted art in one post organized together by day.

Be sure to use the tag #suptoberart2019 in your posts so I’ll see it. This is the tag I will be monitoring for reblogs, AND I REALLY WANNA REBLOG IT. All art posted using this tag will get reblogged!* If your post has been up a few hours and you haven’t gotten a reblog, dm it to me. I don’t want to miss it!

FAQs for this art challenge:

Does the art have to be in ink? No. Your art can be whatever medium you choose. Hell, embrace your inner Dadaist and have fun with it. *It just has to be Supernatural-themed to get a reblog.

Do I have to be an artist to participate? I’ve got news for you. You’re already an artist. Now draw me something! (You can start with this challenge 😉)

I feel like I’m not very good. Is this a competition? No. This is an art challenge. You’re only in competition with yourself. Suptober is intended to be a celebration of art and of Supernatural. It should be challenging, rewarding, and fun, with cool art and even cooler people.

There’s no way I can draw all thirty-one days. Can I still participate? Hell yes. Draw on the days you can. I probably won’t be able to hit every prompt this year either, but I’m sure gonna try!

What do I get for participating? You get to make Supernatural art and talk to people about it. What more could you ever want?

Sammy

I read somewhere that your favorite character is your favorite because they are most like you.  It was worded much more eloquently on the picture but anyway I think that’s true in some ways. I identify with a lot of the struggles Sam has.  I’m not saying I fight demons and kill vampires but Sam struggles as much on the inside as he does in a physical sense.  Sam’s biggest fear is that he will let the ones he loves down.  This is something I worry about all the time.  What makes Sam my favorite is that even though he knows he isn’t prefect and even though he is dealing with immense self conflict he still gets up and goes to save other people.  He still does this with kindness in his heart.  He still defends his family with everything he can give. He still works hard and is honest. I love Sammy because no matter what trials he has gone through if someone needs him he drops everything and turns to help them. I love Sammy because his main concern is the people he cares about and not himself.  I love Sammy because he forgives endlessly but doesn’t forgive himself.  I said I identified with Sam but I can’t even begin to compare to the amazing person that he is. One day I hope to be like Sam pure, forgiving beyond measure, caring and most of all kind.  Thanks Jared for playing Sam better than anyone ever could and please remember just as much as we love Sam we love you.
