#i like this post. was thinking about it while i was in the woods for 3 days #i remember reading about the 8 fold path a long time ago and feeling conflicted over right action including sexual misconduct #but i think its because like #consensual bdsm activities were folded into it as being potentially harmful and thus not in accordance with right action #but i think now my interpretation would be that it seems to be more about literal rape and coercion and other forms of sexual harm #not sure but overall yes lets get it together ladies and get back on the 8 fold path #same with false speech actually #cause im not a fan of absolutist ethics #prefer morla relativism #sometimes lying is the safest or kindest thing #but i think buddhist thought could accommodate this if we are geneous in our interpretations #and also curious about how much could be due to translation distortion
