In the last few weeks, the last male northern white rhino on earth passed away, and giraffes are now classified as vulnerable to extinction. I had the amazing experience of seeing black rhinos and giraffes roam wild in the Serengeti, and it is sad to realize that others may never have that opportunity if the animals go extinct. There are so many other species on the brink of extinction, all around the world, and the first step to conservation efforts is awareness. Hope you learned about a new animal or two! . Fun facts about Ili Pikas: They are endemic to China's Xinjiang province, first discovered in 1983 and then never seen again until 2014. They are critically endangered, and it estimated that there are less than 1000 of these cuties left in the wild!
