Jackson’s brows furrowed from the reply, immediately picking up on the man’s choice of words. He could have played it off that he was simply messing with him, a joke to ease it off. The familiarity of the man, however, said otherwise and the brunet was left to assume that there was nothing but truth to those words. Nothing about the man felt like the typical person he met off the street, nor does his presence have the same feeling as the spirits and immortals he’s met often some time ago. Either he was that off in-between, or someone completely different than the two.
“ A lifetime, huh? How long is that for ya? ” That was the closest question he could pull at the moment. Caution and wariness buzzed beneath his skin from the unknown, but there was a steadiness within him that kept him from running completely. It was a need to know exactly who the man was.
❛ Longer than you could possibly imagine, my guess... ❜ Ah the man had a thing for grandiosity, if he hadn't been told that before it would be a lie. Now, bumping into Jackson like that would seem like quite a coincidence... Yet, coincidences were not a thing he believed in, everything happened for a reason and still there they were crossing paths.
He could have gone on his way quite easily, but the words had escaped him already, too late to take any of them back. ❛ Do not fear me, I can sense your tension from here. It's alright Jackson ❜
