Her smile bloomed until it took over her entire face, delighted that he had agreed.

"Aurora," she supplied, mostly falling into step beside him, just a step or two ahead to guide him in the right direction. It was silly to be so trusting immediately after such an altercation, even she knew that, but he radiated kindness and she really did feel much safer with him.

"—Jackson." A smile stretched across his features, tilting his head slightly as he watched her lead him to her destination. He was glad that she wasn't too shaken up over what happened earlier, and perhaps that was preferable than most outcomes he'd come across.

The wait is all the more cutting and sweet for how badly she wants it, and it takes everything that she's learned about being patient to not roll them over and chase the feeling until they're both peaking.
