I guess it was nice knowing ya then.
Yeah, actually I do.
I'm not sticking around if you keep that mistake.
…I’m not going to.
You don't have a fucking choice.
We’re having a baby.
No, 'cause you're gonna get rid of it. Tomorrow.
Please say something.
We're not having a kid.
— We’re gonna have a baby.
I promise I was being careful. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
What the fuck did you do?
I messed up. I messed up really bad.
Do you love me?
What the fuck do you think?
Can I ask you something? Something serious?
I'd really rather you didn't.
What is it, Ethan?
Didn't say nothin'.
"If it means anything, I considered you a friend." Her voice was soft and she knew she shouldn’t have said a thing but Alyssa knew it’d be bothering her if she didn’t at least tell him before he left. For all she knew, this could be the last time he ever came around late at night.
He doesn't stop, nor does he turn around. Ethan simply keeps heading towards the window. He isn't sure in whether or not he'll take one last look or comment before he found himself half-way out the window. Eyes remain downcast. "Doesn't mean shit." And he's gone.
Her eyes met his for a short moment but she quickly looked down at the carpeted floor. “Yeah, I didn’t think you’re care anyways. Not a big deal.” She forced a pathetic excuse for a smile, shrugging as she sat back down. “Take care of yourself, yeah?”
He slowly nodded. Well, it looked like he would need to find another place to go on night like this. It wouldn't have been hard, they both knew that, but any other place wouldn't have been preferred. "Yeah." His response was simple; emotionless. He doesn't take another look at her before turning back and moving towards the window.
She reluctantly nodded. There wasn’t going to be any caving with him. After all, he had made it clear they weren’t friends. While she felt stupid about the entire thing, Aly figured she should have known better. “No, it’s fine. Maybe we shouldn’t see each other at all, y’know? We both stay away. Everyone’s happy.”
He had been in the process of turning around and heading towards the window when her words hit him. He came to a stop, head lowering as his eyes once again fell to a close. There's a pause and he turns back to look at her. "Yeah, whatever. I don't care." His shoulders rose and fell in a shrug. "Get some sleep."
"Oh.." Aly knew she shouldn’t have been stunned to hear his reply but it still managed to catch her off guard. She couldn’t form other words in that moment. She sat silently for just a moment before finally pushing up off the bed. "We should get some sleep. I can sleep on the couch, take my bed."
Glancing in her direction, his eyes narrowed. "Already told you 'm not stayin'." He made a feeble attempt of lifting his arm and motioning towards the bed she'd just pushed her self off of. "Just go to sleep. I'll see ya in class on Monday or somethin'."
"And going where? It’s quiet here and it’s just us two. I’m sorry for what I’ve said. It’s not my place to say anything anyways. I just don’t like seeing you like this. You’re my friend, Ethan.. Right?" Alyssa looked over at him. Considering the two to be friends was pretty much a ridiculously assumption.
Ethan rubbed his hands over his face before promptly shaking his head. "We're not friends." He's tired. He's so god damn tired and it's made evident in his tone. But what he's said isn't a complete lie. According to most standards, Ethan and Alyssa weren't anything close to friends. They didn't act like friends in the slightest. "No."
