You don’t have a fucking choice.
Yeah, actually I do.
No, ‘cause you’re gonna get rid of it. Tomorrow.
...I'm not going to.
We’re not having a kid.
We're having a baby.
Please say something.
What the fuck did you do?
-- We're gonna have a baby.
I promise I was being careful. This wasn't supposed to happen.
What the fuck do you think?
I messed up. I messed up really bad.
I’d really rather you didn’t.
Do you love me?
Didn’t say nothin’.
Can I ask you something? Something serious?
What is it, Ethan?
Already drenched from the pouring rain, Alyssa kept walking down the empty streets. The girl had managed to lock herself out of her own home and it didn't seem like any of her friends would be answering their phones any time soon. Of course the rain had started before she had figured out what she'd do while she waited from one of her parents to hopefully come home and unlock the door. As much as she preferred waiting out the rain, Aly knew that it'd be best to go somewhere dry. Before she knew it, she was standing outside of Ethan's window. It had been months since they had spoken and she was aware that it was a long shot but it was worth a try. Knuckles gently tapped the cold window, hoping Ethan would hurry and let her in.
He slowly nodded. Well, it looked like he would need to find another place to go on night like this. It wouldn’t have been hard, they both knew that, but any other place wouldn’t have been preferred. “Yeah.” His response was simple; emotionless. He doesn’t take another look at her before turning back and moving towards the window.
"If it means anything, I considered you a friend." Her voice was soft and she knew she shouldn't have said a thing but Alyssa knew it'd be bothering her if she didn't at least tell him before he left. For all she knew, this could be the last time he ever came around late at night.
He had been in the process of turning around and heading towards the window when her words hit him. He came to a stop, head lowering as his eyes once again fell to a close. There’s a pause and he turns back to look at her. “Yeah, whatever. I don’t care.” His shoulders rose and fell in a shrug. “Get some sleep.”
Her eyes met his for a short moment but she quickly looked down at the carpeted floor. "Yeah, I didn't think you're care anyways. Not a big deal." She forced a pathetic excuse for a smile, shrugging as she sat back down. "Take care of yourself, yeah?"
Glancing in her direction, his eyes narrowed. “Already told you ‘m not stayin’.” He made a feeble attempt of lifting his arm and motioning towards the bed she’d just pushed her self off of. “Just go to sleep. I’ll see ya in class on Monday or somethin’.”
She reluctantly nodded. There wasn't going to be any caving with him. After all, he had made it clear they weren't friends. While she felt stupid about the entire thing, Aly figured she should have known better. "No, it's fine. Maybe we shouldn't see each other at all, y'know? We both stay away. Everyone's happy."
Ethan rubbed his hands over his face before promptly shaking his head. “We’re not friends.” He’s tired. He’s so god damn tired and it’s made evident in his tone. But what he’s said isn’t a complete lie. According to most standards, Ethan and Alyssa weren’t anything close to friends. They didn’t act like friends in the slightest. “No.”
"Oh.." Aly knew she shouldn't have been stunned to hear his reply but it still managed to catch her off guard. She couldn't form other words in that moment. She sat silently for just a moment before finally pushing up off the bed. "We should get some sleep. I can sleep on the couch, take my bed."
