karen: a typewriter going a mile a minute; the keys of a keyboard being pressed with more force than is really necessary, housing a million and one questions and a million and one secrets
elektra: the jangling of expensive jewelry, of a diamond scraping against gold; if one listens hard enough, the scraping transforms into the sound of metal upon metal
frank: a show tune you would hear emanating from a carnival; it's discordant, though, and impossible to tell what the next note will be
