my all-time favorite daredevil headcanon is that matt can recognize people by their heartbeats, and each person has a unique one. like,

matt: a cane tapping on gravel; the sound your knuckles make when sliding against each other after cracking them

foggy: laughter, though not the loud, boisterous kind; it's more akin to the sort of chuckles shared between friends at an inside joke only they find funny

karen: a typewriter going a mile a minute; the keys of a keyboard being pressed with more force than is really necessary, housing a million and one questions and a million and one secrets

elektra: the jangling of expensive jewelry, of a diamond scraping against gold; if one listens hard enough, the scraping transforms into the sound of metal upon metal

frank: a show tune you would hear emanating from a carnival; it's discordant, though, and impossible to tell what the next note will be

poindexter: the sound a dart makes when it successfully hits the center of the dart board; a baseball being repeatedly slammed against a mitt

fisk: a piece of cutlery clinking against a wine glass, grabbing the attention of the whole room; at times, though, the cutlery turns into a brick, the glass into brain matter
