𐙚 INFO. this is part of jp’s 2025 halloween story! this takes place after the collectible stories, so a bit of context: the guys have an urge to eat kate. after a game of chase, kate gets access to a room with a padlock. then it branches off — this is darius’ branch !
As Uramichi and you walk home from recording, he keeps glancing at your hand. It's safely put in your pocket, hiding from the freezing air. Your boyfriend's hand, however, stubbornly rests next to his side. It's a challenge to keep the corners of your mouth straight, but then they curl as you playfully push his arm with your shoulder.
"Those fingers will freeze off if you don't put them in your pocket," you encourage.
Losing the last bit of hope that you'd reach for his hand, Uramichi looks down defeated. "Ah-- yeah, I guess. Thanks." Cute.
Right when Uramichi finally grants his ice-cold hand the warmth of his pocket, you put out yours. The eyes of your boyfriend widen in surprise when you place your arm through his and then hide your hand in your pocket once again.
Now your arms are intertwined while your hands will stay warm.
If you asked Uramichi, his cheeks were simply red due to the cold, but that didn't explain why the ears under his beanie were the same color nor the sudden appearance of a smile your affection had curved onto his lips.
Victor mentions in his trailer that he fears Kate has let down her guard too much and asks if he should punish her by locking her up in a birdcage. Interestingly so, the birdcage was mentioned during his first 95k bonus story. In it, all of Crown wants Kate to choose them, but Victor interfers and says these two things to Kate:
"I don't know who you'll choose, but I want to keep watching over you like a big birdcage."
"I want to see you living freely. See what you want to see and do what you want to do. Then you'll become a greater person."
Kate thinks that Victor is comparing himself to a birdcage with the door always open. But also, I got to his 24th bond level and it unlocks this line: "I thought I wanted to set you free, but now I also want to lock you away for myself... Love is so full of contradictions."
The birdcage is such a fitting object for Victor who values freedom but also lacks it; and he wishes Kate freedom, but he's also greedy enough to want to have her locked away under his care. His trailer says as well that it's his fate to lose everything, so that adds a little layer to the birdcage to me as well, because it shows an unwillingness to let her go and lose her.
Plus, a while ago, I thought of Rapunzel as an option for Victor's curse. I'm not very confident in the theory, but locked up in a tower = locked up in a birdcage.

Thinking about Uramichi and how he can't take his eyes off of you as he's satisfying your physical needs. What do you mean he's making you, someone who gives him all the unadulterated love he craves, feel... good? The look of those half-lidded eyes, rosy cheeks, and parted lips is more addictive than the negotine in his cigarettes. Uramichi can't look away, hypnotized and scared. What if he does and he misses even a second of this sight that makes him reconsider the existence of heaven? What if... it disappears? Oh, and when you praise him in between your moans? Whatever part of his body Uramichi is using to make you see stars, you'll be seeing a whole fucking galaxy when he's done with you.

I'm overwhelmed with the need to ramble over this 'cause I feel like this is deeply routed in Victor's pre-route behavior.
We are thirsty and starved for this man. Pre-route Victor embodies slow burn and edging. To point out a difference between him and another suitor: pre-route Ellis has already fingered us twice whereas we just got a friendship kiss on our forehead from Victor. As much as I complain about the edging and slow burn, they are some of my favorites tropes and I love that they get applied to Victor. Partially it's given to him because he's a gentleman, but there is more.
It seems to me that Victor thinks he can't allow himself to want Kate like that even though he is attracted to her. An instance of Victor distancing himself from Kate is in his POV of the mirror event. He suggests that the two could hug every morning to which Kate responds that her heart couldn't take it. Victor agrees and thinks to himself it's better to not get too close. Another instance is that in the epilogue of the Wrecked The Halls event, Victor thinks they shouldn't be more than the Queen's Aide and the fairytalekeeper.
Distance. That's an important element in Victor's pre-route events which will undoubtly so be present in his route as well. There is something that forces Victor to think Kate and he shouldn't get too close. But despite of that, he still wants her.
This is a spoiler for his first future CE card but in it, he allows himself a few minutes to do what his heart desires despite saying he was just teaching Kate something. In that moment of doing what he wants, Victor places multiple kisses on Kate's shoulder and neck. He's saying her name like it's a secret love that shouldn't be. Afterwards, he tells Will that even if he had feelings for Kate, he has nothing to offer because he belongs to the queen.
In my opinion, Victor hasn't been given many opportunities to be romantic. He doesn't give himself the opportunity to be too obvious with his feelings for Kate. He cannot permit himself for whatever reason to see Kate as someone he can and should romance. But naturally, he's a very doting person and his attraction to her slips through in some of his actions and words.
So I believe once we have entered the girlfriend zone, Victor will be finally free to show that romantic side of him a lot more. I'm not sure how much content the EN devs already have because I'm not sure how much ahead Cybird writes, but I think the devs made an accurate scale with how we have seen Vic act so far, though I think he's actively holding his romantic side back.
I just wanna say that I have the impression that the EN and JP teams are in constant contact. I don't have any solid proofs, but sometimes it feels like the jokes, concerns, and ideas of our English community somehow reaches to the Japanese team. Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe the JP team is keeping an eye on us. Or maybe I'm just paranoid. But that's the impression I have.
And following that logic, this damn dramatic level directly comes from what we should expect from his route (I think it will be even more). If you only read the EN game, you wouldn't expect this from Victor. He gives the impression of an air-head with too much energy, positivity, and a constant present smile. There wasn't much event with him yet, and seeing that level of drama in him is pretty hard at this point. But… if you also read the JP's events… It wouldn't be that surprising.
And for those of you who are worried about the low romance level… I decided to combine the other guys' TGIFs from the same game so you can understand my logic. They are all from the English X/Twitter Cybird (the developer, not just the game).
As usual, I talk too much, so I'll hide the rest.
The first three boys: Liam, Harry and Will
I… strongly disagree with the romantic level on the Harry's diagram. His route doesn't give that vibe at all. I haven't read his POV stories, only two endings epilogue, and I DO KNOW he loves Kate very much. But… the route itself and the usual Harry makes it quite difficult to notice.
The same with William. Even if he makes very romantic moves and spoils Kate endlessly, it is still quite difficult to see his emotions. And I like him very much, I don’t think his way of hiding emotions is something bad. It’s simply who he is. It’s just hard to notice, it’s really really hard. And the man himself doesn’t give such a vibe at first glance. Maybe they tell us how much is hidden in him…

If they're talking about their routes… then maybe. But again… I don't see much flirting from Ally… humor… yeah… but he's not Shingen, who flirts non-stop.
And for comparison
Who dares to say that Kenshin has no romance??? He decorated her… cage… and… brought her to a beautiful field and night. I know his route just wasn't focused on it. But that doesn't mean it's not there at all!!!
So my point is that it's very difficult to have a single opinion on this. It's all quite personal.
And I can't say we have a very low romance level in Victor's diagram (look at poor Kenny). So… nothing to worry about.
Judging by the previous TGIFs… They were supposed to give us Ellis… His route should be next. They can't give him next month because they're changing the games… When are they going to give us Ellis??? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see Vivi's diagram. But I feel offended on Ellis' behalf.

You might be very right about the two teams being in constant contact! When it comes to certain type of media, keeping track of what your fans think and want will benefit you in the end. It helps fans to stay connected and interested in the content. Plus, I think the more you know about a character, the better you can translate their dialogue.
You're so right! Everyone has a different opinion on what's considered romantic and to what level. To be romantic means to express your love for someone you have romantical feelings for, right? At least, that's one of the ways you can interpret/put it. Some people think yanderes are romantic whereas others find them disturbing. Other times, the romantical nature of a suitor can seem nonexistent or weak, but once you take time and effort to understand the character, you realize what they do is romantic. Even when two people agree xyz is romantic, it doesn't mean they will always agree on which characters it applies to or whether the execution is great.
When I was writing this post, I was wondering whether Victor's doting on Kate could be seen as romantic or not. Victor likes to take care of others, especially when they hold a special place in his heart. With that in mind, the nature of his doting is not romantical. That's how he shows love in general. But does the romantical nature of his feelings for Kate influences the nature of which he dotes her on?
PS. yes, flirty doesn't really sound like Alfons. "Tease" seems to fit him more, imo. Being a flirt sounds more like you're trying to charm someone whereas being a tease is more about trying to get any reaction out of them. It also sounds more mischievous.
