Now, Zack⦠Zack wasnāt the most careful of people ā heād argue that it came with the job, but it had led to him being knocked through the roof of a church one day, not the first or last time heās been so careless, and more recently⦠Landed him face-first into a pair of very nice breasts belonging to a very attractive young woman. Wholly unintentionally.
It happened so fast that the SOLDIER couldnāt figure out how heād gotten himself there in the first place. It send him reeling back, or at least upright, and he suddenly felt very worried in that second for how far theyād gotten their relationship. She was extremely understanding, sheād know it were an accident, right? That he wouldnāt justā¦
Luckily for him she hadnāt been so upset as to swept a leg up at him because he was too busy guarding his very red face and trying to keep eye contact that he likely wouldnāt have seen it coming. āI,ā he tried again, stiff when she moved his hand while at the same time following without hesitation, though he did go a little more straight in the back with the tone she addressed him with. āIām sorry,ā he spat quickly, voice high in place of the previous flailing, āI really didnāt mean to!ā
No, ācarefulā was not a word Aerith would use to describe Zack, that was for sure. Which was alright, for the most part. Just, here? Here, where it was an embarrassment she hadn't anticipated on experiencing? It meant she needed a moment. Which hadn't really required too long, just a second for her brain to catch up with surprise. Honestly, shouldn't she be the one more out of sorts over this? Well, maybe he thought she'd tear into him about it⦠In which case, playing the doubtful one probably wasn't helping him think otherwise.
But it was a little funny to watch him scramble. She really probably shouldn't think it was, but it's hard to argue with the truth.
Of course she knew it was an accident. He wouldn't be fretting so much if itād been intentional, most likely. He might be as embarrassed, but not so desperately trying to apologise after it happening. She could see him trying to pass it off or joking around and apologising when it didn't get him anywhere, maybe, but not like this. And besides, she was pretty sure Zack was better than that. But rather than immediately let him off, she eyed him a bit longer, staring him down. It was tempting to circle him with her arms crossed and everything, buuut that might be going a little too far. So instead, she folded her arms and stayed right in front of him. ...Might still be too much. Hmm. Closing her eyes, Aerith nodded once with a low, even hum.
āOkay.ā
Just that. Simple, plain, completely normal tone of voice. When she opened her eyes, it was to smile in time with the lowering of her arms, clasping her hands behind her back.
