This is Spirit Guardra - a maternal yet mysterious force in the life of Ether. 

The process is basically the same as the previous process image I posted. I sketch out a thumbnail. What’s different is this time I did a “color key” where I explored the different color and lighting options. 

Then it was a matter of detailing and making sure my shading was on point for the drama of the picture. I use a combination of the selection tool and chalky brushes to give the finishing drawing a more “traditional” look.

This is me posting my art from my twitter(@noelreverse) to my tumblr. I haven’t forgotten this story, just getting caught up with work. 

This is the process that I generally take to get to a final design. A thumbnail to get the sense of motion, then just following through in the initial design. Finally cleaning it up and adding the gradients and stronger lights.
